We went for a family meal. The menu was varied and there were a number of specials available. I had Joe's Scotch Egg as a starter, which was a meal in itself and delicious! The staff are friendly, attentive and efficient. The wine choice is...small but what is available is very good and reasonably priced.More

Had dinner in the whiskey still with my husband & daughters . We all chose different dishes & each one excellent. We were seated outside in the garden & as the evening got a little cooler Rita arrived out with her own jacket for me...& blankets for the girls . What a nice touch I thought ! Service & value excellent. Would highly recommend this restaurant.More

The whiskey still is an old reliable when it comes to food, drink and service. Joe and Rita run a fabulous business- it’s a credit to them and their family. Without a doubt some of the most personable and welcoming hosts I’ve come across. Rita...even went to the effort on one occasion of writing down the recipe of a dressing used on salad for my dad- an unnecessary but very welcome personal touch. The food never disappoints; neither does the drink. The friendly staff and the pleasant view are a bonus. An all round great experience every visit to the Whiskey Still. 10/10.More

A group of 6 of us came here for a birthday meal on Saturday, the food and service was absolutely second to none. We were seated immediately and offered drinks, the drinks arrived within minutes. The staff were so friendly and efficient. The food was...Devine, from presentation to taste it couldn’t be faulted but any of Us and the portion sizes were very generous. We didn’t opt for a desert but the staff had overheard it was a birthday and brought out a desert with candles in it on their own accord. What a fabulous and personal touch. I would definitely recommend!More

We have been to The Whiskey Still in Dromineer on many occasions, for both lunch and dinner. The quality of food is consistently very good and portion sizes generous. The menu is what you would expect in a pub restaurant, they offer standard popular dishes,...I would especially recommend their fish & chips or steak (which is good value). Specials are also available daily. Their chips are amazing. Desserts are a highlight, in particular the toblerone cheesecake. The guinness is good and atmosphere is friendly and casual. It is located in a small village overlooking the lake which is a lovely setting. It is a family run business that employs local young people as waiting staff. My experience of service has always been good. I get that it will, in these covid times, be somewhat slower, due to covering outdoor seating, the difficulty in managing covid restrictions and unpredictable demand / weather. We recently returned from a family holiday in Kerry, where we ate out most nights and found the same situation with waiting times. I didn't find fish & chips as good anywhere. I would highly recommend The Whiskey Still. I have never come away either disappointed or still hungry.More

We had booked a table here but were unable to attend due to a child being very unwell. While we should have called to cancel this booking, this slipped our mind due to the circumstances and we received a very aggressive call from Rita at...the whiskey still letting us know that “it was unacceptable & we should know better”. Rita then hung up the phone. We called back to try and explain the situation in better detail to Rita and apologise. She was very aggressive again, did not attempt to understand and again hung up the phone. We were so shocked to be spoken to in this manner- it was really inappropriate. In addition, when we had visited the whiskey still the previous day & made the booking we were spoken to in a very rude manner when we asked if any tables were available at that time without a booking. I would not recommend this bar/ restaurant.More

Steak was lovely. Partner ordered burger but was very average. On the menu chips came with both meals but we were served one portion of chips between us. Chips were very greasy and we asked for them to be changed. Very rude woman (possibly owner)...charged over with a much fresher portion of chips asking was there a problem with the chips and that they only get compliments for them. Clearly chips she gave us were much fresher than other chips. Terrible attitude, really should not be in the service insdustry. Ruined the whole experience for us after hearing good things about the place, will never return.More

We were recommended to go to The Whiskey Still by Kevin at Nenagh Castle. When he promised us the best fish and chips around- he wasn’t lying. The meal was fabulous- thank you to Joe and his team in the kitchen. (The bar also serves...excellent Guinness.) We arrived without a booking- as did many people when we were there. Dinny and Rita were so helpful and found us a table for 2 in their gardens overlooking Lower Shannon/Lough Derg. They also fitted in as many others as they possibly could. The restaurant is very busy for good reason. Superb food and excellent service at very reasonable prices. 10/10 guys. Thanks to all of you we thoroughly enjoyed our evening.More

I know they offer gluten free but not sure about celiacs. I am sure they would be more than happy to answer your query though.
