We came in for dinner with a large group. It was a lovely evening. Everyone was pleased with their choices. The quality of the food and friendliness of the staff were top notch. Called in here on Easter Monday, was greater by a friendly member of staff who soon had us seated at a good table. Our food was excellent and the service was first class. We will go out of our way to return here again.

We dined at The Venue on Saturday 17th of February, There was four of us and we were give a very spacious table looking out over Strandhill Bay. All our party agreed the food was excellent. I had the Medallions of Beef and was very...impressed.. All the staff were very courteous and attentive and looked after all our needs. The venue sets a very high standard to all its customers and it is very evident when you are there. Quite impressive actually. We got take out four takeout pasta dishes as we were heading to the beach we didnt have time to eat in due to time constraints but I ordered sonething that could be repeated easily so I choose basil chicken dish the scillan tomato one...and two kids tomato based ones all with chicken as well. We arrived home hour and half later and reheated but oh wow they were nicest pasta chicken dishes we ever had in recent years. My boys who are fussy eaters just gobbled down as well and cleared their plates. So definitely going back. Staff were friendly and helpful.More
Got pasta and chicken here with my friends- if came out looking like literal dog vomit mixed in with tomato juice and some super mushy pasta to accompany it. When I didn’t eat it at all no questions were asked by any member of staff....Never eveeeer again venueMore

I came here with a party of 7 people. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We got three courses of various choices and all went down well. However, there is s poor drinks selection and the bathrooms aren’t great. Waiters were friendly and welcoming.
Myself and girlfriend and her nephew had dinner Saturday evening. Nephews burger was so dissapointing that he wouldn't eat it . None of us were happy with our meals . September 2022
Table booked for 7.45..got our table at 8.45...service was terrible..I ordered starter and main them to be told 30mins later they were sold out!!...ordered a bt of white wine ,had to ask waiter for ice bucket, his answer back was he had no ice bucket...and sure its only out of the fridge..such bad manners..the whole experience in the venue was horrible...also toilets were disgusting one cubicle totally unacceptable in a big restaurant and so dirty...More
This was recommended by a friend. Eh, not again. First, inside smells like farts and has about 10% oxygen. We asked to dine outdoors, otherwise we would have not stayed. I was here last night and as soon as I walked in fell in love with the place. From the cosy front bar to the beautiful dining area with views of the beach. The pints of Guinness were excellent. I cannot commend the staff enough,...they are all so friendly and pleasant, the owners are blessed to have such fantastic people working for them. The food was absolutely excellent also. The menu had a huge selection with something for everyone. We ordered a fillet steak and a sirloin steak with surf and turf, which was fabulous. I couldn’t fault anything. The portions were excellent and the fillet steak was huge! Serious value for money here unlike other places in Sligo. My only problem is I don’t know when I will be in strandhill again to try some of the other fabulous things on the menu. If you’re in the area you need to visit this place. It’s well worth the drive out of busy Sligo town.More
We were fortunate that the restaurant was open on a Monday night for dinner, as we were staying in Ballymote, and there was nothing open for a meal. We had secured dinner reservations, being told that we could not be seated until 7:45 pm. We...showed up early, and the hostess was happy to seat us. However, others without a reservation, were sent away. We had a table in a busy area of the restaurant, but we both felt fortunate to be able to order dinner. There was a room off the back that offered a lovely view out over the water, but I can only presume that those tables had been reserved. I ordered the prawns in garlic butter with sour dough bread. It was quite a plentiful plate of prawns, but took me quite awhile to remove the meat from the shells. The dinner came with a side salad. I had specifically told the waitress that I had an allergy to peppers, but my salad came with green peppers hidden down in the leaves. Luckily, my husband had spotted them in his salad first, so that I could thoroughly check mine prior to eating. I mentioned the peppers to a passing waitress, and she came out with a fresh one that was pepper free. I did order the cheesecake special for dessert, which was delicious. I was a bit taken back when the waitress joked that we wouldn't have to worry about peppers in the dessert. An allergy is never something to joke about. I felt that I had handled the situation quite politely, and I did not appreciate the matter being taken so lightly. My experience has always been that the United Kingdom takes allergy matters quite seriously. I was really surprised that I even had to check my salad. Someone missed the boat somewhere. My advice would be to book a table in advance so that you aren't disappointed when you arrive. Especially with so few venues serving early in the week at this time.More
We booked in June for a table of 10 on a Friday night in august. The restaurant is lively and loud with good vibes and lovely decor. We were sat in a table in the middle of the restaurant with great sea views. The servers...were exceptional, quick, helpful and friendly with great recommendations on wine. The food was brilliant most of us had steaks and everything came out perfectly despite the high volume of numbers coming through the door. Anyone visiting strand hill, Sligo or rosses point The Venue is a just go. Thank you to the whole team for looking after us!More
