We went for a meal in Regans on New Year’s Eve and had a lovely time. We were warmly welcomed by the owner and brought to our seats without hesitation. The service was excellent and prompt without feeling rushed. The staff were friendly and helpful...regarding items on menu. The restaurant was busy yet well managed which gave it a great atmosphere. The food was fantastic, the portions a great size and very reasonably priced. I went for the potato skins to start and a stirfry for my mains and honestly had no room for dessert. I will definitely be returning in the new year for some more amazing food.More

Went for dinner here with family, we ate here numerous times and always went here for special occasions. On arrival we were told four staff members called in sick and they were under pressure, I work in the industry myself and I was disgusted with...the behavior of management!! When one in my party ordered steak plain with pepper sauce on the side! When the steak was sent out it was with all the toppings and then when the steak came back it had no sauce! When asked for it one of the waiters replied "ohh u tried someone else and liked it" when management was informed they jumped on the defense straight away no apologies and was basically saying the waiter would never say something like that and if he did it was a joke!!!!! After our main course we sat for 20 minutes with the empty plates we eventually got up asked for the bill we weren't offered dessert or tea or coffee! When we told the manager again they fought back again no apologies I walked out after spending €200 in the place! We will never go there again and would advise anyone thinking of going there give it a hard pass!!!More

Recently I visited Regans for a meal with my partner. On arrival, the owner directed us to our seat by leaning over the bar and just pointing out our table from a distance. The food menus given were physically sticky and dirty. I asked the...waitress could I see a drinks menu but they ‘had no such thing’ and she was not forthcoming in informing me of the selection of drinks they had to offer. We were seated next to the back end of the bar which is used as some sort of wash-up / dumping area for all the dirty plates and glasses. This was very distracting and loud. There was a waste bin outside of bar accompanied with sweeping brushes and dust pans - extremely messy! There were pieces of tissues and rubbish around the bin on the restaurant floor which were clearly there because the staff had missed the bin and had not proceeded to pick up the rubbish after themselves. The food was served hot and promptly. The portion size was good but the rim of the plates were dirty along with the two dirty pint glasses we were given. The owner shouted orders at the staff. I understand that this was a busy night but if you cannot work efficiently under pressure than don’t be so greedy and commit to so many bookings. Please clean and tidy the whole restaurant. Put bulbs in the sidelights on the tables so customers can see their food and don’t dump all the dirty plates on a bar in full view of everyone. Create new clean food menus and drink menus - don’t have the customers guess what drinks you have because the waiting staff can’t be bothered to share any information. The food here is okay but unfortunately this is spoiled by bad management.More

There was a time when you'd get off the bus in Roscommon and your first stop was Regan's, a family run pub, which was just one of the great pubs, if you wanted food you could have a good dinner. The bus doesn't stop outside...Regan's now, if it did, you wouldn't be welcome to go in and have a drink and chat. It's a "gastro pub" now, whatever that is. What it is average food at too high prices, served by staff who don't care in an unwelcoming sterile atmosphere. This pub is an example of how to make things so much worse in the name of progress.More

The food was nice but the service was HORRENDOUS!! Probably the worst service of anywhere I've ever eaten out in in Ireland. Went for food with my parents and my sister and they all got their food after quite a wait and I got nothing....I only ordered Soup with a side of Chips. After several minutes of waiting I had to go down and ask where my food was and it was clear that they had completely forgotten about it even though I seen the waitress write it down when taking the order. We also had asked for two Cokes which they had forgotten about and had to be reminded about as well. They weren't that apologetic and said they would get it for me now. After a few minutes the soup arrived (with only ONE slice of Soda bread) and the waitress said the chips were on there way. The Soup was lovely. Lovely and warm and tasty. Finished the soup and after another five minutes the chips hadn't arrived and I had to go down and ask for them again. This was the SECOND TIME having to ask where it was and it was clear that they had forgotten again!! They weren't very apologetic at all. The chips eventually came and they were only mildly apologetic. At no point did anyone come to check that everything was ok with our food. I feel like the Chips should have been on the house but we were charged for them!! And it wasn't like the place was busy. Half the staff were just standing around behind the bar. Don't know if poorly trained or they just couldn't give a damn but we've never encountered such crappy service in our lives. Also the toilets were pretty manky and could do with being cleaned more often. My sister mentioned that there was no soap at all in the Ladies which in the middle of flu season is disgusting!! This place is not what it used to be. I wouldn't eat here again and would advise people eat elsewhere. In this climate where every single bit of custom should be valued this place would want to cop on and get it's act together!!More

A surpise birthday meal was booked for me, friends from UK, Galway and Dublin came down to join us. (17 in all) The atmosphere was so comforting, the food was out of this world (and plenty of it might I add) the staff were friendly...and very attentive. If you go through Roscommon Town give it a try, you will not be disappointed. A big shout out of thanks to Dominic, David and all Regans and their friendly staff. We will be back x Many thanks Marie and Vincent HanleyMore

Terrible service, we visited over the bank holiday in August and never again. The owner kept letting as many people just walk in and never stopped anyone regardless of how little staff were working. No water on table, asking for glasses, dirty glasses on the...table, we got half our starters and when we complained and tried to cancel our main courses the owners blew a fuse and started arguing with me being verbally aggressive and down right rude shouting at us over the bar in front of a packed restaurant! Well able to charge €14 for a starter yet we didn’t even get the whole starter! Ridiculous! Threatened us with the gaurds when we wouldn’t pay for the main courses we didn’t even get and didn’t want to hear how bad his service was we were told to “get a life, look in the mirror and cop onto ourselves” what a joke to say this to any customer!! Avoid if in Roscommon we will never set a foot inside it again so disappointed! Manager needs an anger management course if he cannot deal with complaints!More

Stopped by this restaurant on our way from Donegal to Doolin. It was amazing on all accounts. It was a beauftiful sunny day and we grabbed a table outside so that we could take in the scenery. It is a wonderful little town in the...middle of Ireland. We were able to meet the owner, Mr. David Regan who was kind enough to talk to us for a bit and take his picture with my son. The food was fantastic and the Seafood Chowder is out of this world! If you're traveling through this part of Ireland, do yourself a favor and make a stop at Regan's Gastro Pub.More
