I sat inside - in the Victorian style" tea room. Displays of antique teapots and accessories were tastefully exhibited all around. An Old-style fireplace and "mantlepiece" were featured in my tearoom.
Hygiene good; waitresses wore masks and antiseptic sprays were available inside all entrances. The...garden area, in sight of the sea, was particularly beautiful on the sunny day that I visited.
This is a very popular restaurant/tea room and is always very busy! Expect to have to wait to be served.
The staff were all very friendly; Amy, a University Student, with this summer waitress job, was talkative, interesting, and naturally friendly. She lives up in the hills overlooking Carlingford. Her University is in Galway (that I had visited with my wife three years ago) - so we had something in common to talk about.
My "homemade" scone was fresh, having been baked around two hours before. Beautiful and tasty.
The Cappuccino Coffee was "just as I like it"!
The atmosphere was "unhurried" - just like a tearoom should be. (even though it was very busy).
The garden "tearoom" was spacious - and overlooked the sea. Distancing was easy, with tables well spaced. It had a separate servery. It was very colourful (see photos).
Even the toilets were "victorian themed" - and were most hygienic.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.
Highly recommended. Prices reasonable.More
