Lovely place for drinks, great venue. Staff are so friendly. Unfortunately the food was a let down. I asked for a medium steak, it came out medium and the top was burnt, which killed the taste….

Longfords best kept secret

Stumbled upon this place after leaving a nearby establishment unsatisfied. Firstly the interior is very snazzy while also being very cosy. The staff are so nice, very prompt service. Food was really lovely. Will be back

The service was good and all waiting staff were competent, most of the food was good however my partner got the stir fry which was quite bland, and the consistency was rather watery, the chicken didn't look nor taste right. my partner couldn't eat more then a few forkfuls. The waiting staff noticed that he hadn't eaten his dish, we expected it would at the very least be discounted from the bill however it was not, this was disappointing.

Unexpected stop for lunch

Stopped in for Sunday lunch today soup was fresh and very tasty.brown bread excellent had Roast Beef for main was very good, mash lovely and buttery vegetables nice selection great portions. Will return staff very polite and efficient and informative,

3 strikes & i’m out!!!

i was really excited to hear PVs was reopening again & serving food, however to my disappointment i have given it 3 tries & the food got worse each time. It’s a shame as the pub is lovely & so are the wait staff. my kids have eaten with me each time & said they don’t want to eat there again. Sorry guys sort your food out!!

Had Sunday lunch here, we ordered special of roast lamb and a fish and chips. Staff very pleasant. Food below average. Soggy batter on fish, chips ok but fish and chips should have big chunky chips, peas tasted of very cheap mint sauce. Lamb was tough covered with a gravy which had no meat flavour. Cool mash and a bowl of unidentifiable vegetables. I saw carrots at an adjoining table but mine seemed to be tough pieces of turnip, the whole thing was very poor I didn’t bother asking for hot potatoes. Poor value and food not good. I pass through Lingford often and have yet to find a decent food location

Not impressed with the food

I ordered the chicken burger which came well presented on a wooden serving plate. The chips were ok, the skin on frozen fries that can be purchased in Aldi. The chicken burger was a cheap processed frozen burger similar to a supermarket own brand . For the price a customer would at least expect a proper breast of chicken. Obviously no proper Chef on site. Honestly a nearby takeaway would be better with proper cut chips and real chicken breast burgers.

Hello and Thank you for your review We have recently changed our menu from a breast of chicken burger to the breaded chicken burger, to change things up a little, we are sorry it wasn't to your taste. Has been better in the past. Tonight’s fare was awful

For my main I had battered fish. It was disgusting. The batter was heavy and was so oily that I just had to lightly press my finger on it to cause pure oil to exude from it. It was vile. My partner had a chicken burger. Awful. I’ve been here a few times since it reopened and was satisfied. Not tonight.

Amazing Food

Went in today for a quick stir fry, took 10 mins was the most amazing thing I ever tasted. Excellent food. Spotlessly clean. Staff outstanding. Serving staff just fantastic. Nice drink, Amazing food, Nice people. Top class.

Faulty Towers

Had dinner here recently, some staff very rude especially the manager. No respect for what I ordered. Rather than explaining they didn't have what I ordered they tried to push different ingredient on me which I'm allergic to but hoping I wouldn't notice. When challenged they got aggressive and rude. No respect

Hi there Upon your arrival to our premises on one of the busiest days of the year Father's day without a booking and ignoring the "please wait to be seated" sign we gracefully allowed you and your 2 guests to sit at the bar as the restaurant was completely full. Your order was roast beef with " no pepper on the vegetables " unfortunately seasoning such as pepper is added to veg upon roasting in the oven and your server apologised about this and offered to change your vegetables for unseasoned ones which would be peas and carrots which you accepted. Upon arriving back to the table with the new vegetables you were not happy and told your server they were a much smaller portion or a "childs portion" your sever explained they were in the same sized bowl as the previous vegetables that came with the beef dinner, you would not allow her to speak and were raising your voice to the point she felt uncomfortable and called me over, You proceeded to tell me you didn't want pepper on the vegetables and at NO POINT did you say you had an allergy to it, I again apologised and explained that the veg is seasoned and roasted in the oven so their would be pepper on it but that the new portion which I could see on the table had no pepper on it, you continued to raise your voice and tell me it was a child sized portion to which I explained or tried to that it was the EXACT same size as the original which was still sitting on the table I even asked you to look at both bowls side by side to see it was the same, you continued to raise your voice and exclaim you wernt paying for your meal which at this point you had almost fully completed, I had to ask you to please stop shouting and lower your tone as your were now making me feel uncomfortable also. I took your meal of the bill and at no point did I or your server raise our voices to your level as we have more respect for both ourselves and our customers then to do that but unfortunately we were not going to change your mind about your Portion size of vegetables !!!!!! To brand us " faulty towers" for the above is uncalled for as was your behaviour today ! We were very happy to see your 2 guests enjoyed their meals as there plates were empty on leaving the restaurant! Thank you!

Outstanding!

Very fussy foodie here. I dined with some friends for a birthday get together recently in PV’s and first of all a shout out to their staff for being attentive, efficient and courteous throughout the evening/night. Table service was excellent and was a lovely intimate personal touch. It’s been a long time since I had food as good as I had here - quality produce and everything was fresh, very well presented and was delicious. The sea bass is excellent and is served with two pieces: nachos are also highly recommended as are the wings - you won’t go wrong with the chicken burger either. There were 14 of us and all 14 were happy, well fed and very impressed. Whoever the chef(s) are keep up the good work. The menu has an excellent choice and represents excellent value. Great drinks and their cocktails are highly recommended as is their Malbec. Overall, we had a faultless evening, were well minded and we will all be back soon again. Well done guys - and thank you.

Can't order what you want

This is the first time here in Ireland or anywhere that we have been refused permission to order from the kids menu as our daughter is not under 12!! Yes seriously. Not keen on returning even if it is local and regardless of food quality.

Excellent restaurant with helpful staff

Stopped en route from Knock to Cavan, as the first decent looking restaurant we encountered en route. Excellent food and even better service. All five of our three generation family group were delighted by the standard of the food. The four different dishes chosen were all delicious. Our waitress was exceptional, seating us only a few minutes before the kitchen closed at 20.00. She was helpful and attentive throughout.

Lovely experience

Lovely place for food, fab atmosphere, the place was spotless. Staff was very accommodating for my fussy children's orders. Colouring pages and crayons offered to the kids on arrival. Wasn’t a long wait for food and it was fabulous. Will defo be returning soon

Fabulous food, decor and staff. We had carbonara and fish and chips and it was all to die for. Staff very friendly and welcoming even on such a busy weekend. Highly recommend a visit next time you’re in Longford.
