Spent last weekend in Letterfrack, incorporating quite a few visits to Veldons throughout the 3days. The staff are second to none....their friendliness knows no boundaries and there is nothing they wont do for you, regardless of some of my company being hard to please!🤣 Matt,...Paddy, Aoife, Niamh just to name a few gave just impeccable service. The manager Noel couldn't do enough for us and the food there was outstanding. I had the freshest fish n chips ive ever had.....the cajun chicken burger was unreal....the chowder delicious. Really can't say enough about the place. I think they should stop serving shots though.....I may have overdone it a little bit in that department!!🤣🤣🤣🤣 Have already booked to go back in November for the winter ambience 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰More

The staff were excellent. They were very attentive and accommodated us even though we did not make a booking. Food wise, the captain’s platter was a bit of a let down. Some pictures from other reviewers showed a hot platter but ours were all cold...so the hubby was complaining a bit as he doesn’t like cold seafood. The pasta was bland but tasted lovely after we added salt to it so we are happy enough with that dish. Everyone enjoyed the desserts. The chips were also proper chippers’ chip. Overall quite good.More

Above average kitchen, wide selection of locally seeded seafood and typical Irish pub food. Pro tip: try the desserts!

Visited this restaurant as a family during a brief holiday in Connemara. Staff were very helpful and friendly, particularly Simon. The food was delicious and unusually for Connemara which really is rip off Ireland at its best, was reasonably priced. I would definitely return

After driving the Sky Road we had to stop for what else? Seafood. Not only was the service friendly, and the drinks cold…this was THE BEST seafood I’ve ever had!!! I had the Hake with Cream RedPepper Sauce over Ratatouille. The fish came out very...fresh and flaky, but more than that the ratatouille was also fresh and perfectly seasoned. The Red Pepper cream was the perfect compliment to the meal and I was in Heaven! It was served with a side of steamed veg and even those were fresh and well seasoned!! Is this place worth a stop? Hell Yes!!!More

We were a large group of 10 and from the moment we walked through the door we were made to feel so welcome! Food was of a consistently high standard across the weekend as was the superb service and attention that we received from Patrick,...Simon, Jenny & Noel. They accommodated all of our changes to the menu and our last minute reservation changes. Superbly warm welcome so much so that we returned on several occasions. Would highly recommendMore

Ate here a couple of times after an Easter break, rain or shine, made to feel very welcome, an Irish welcome - which I believe is on the decline. Great food, a 'good' pint of the black stuff, great customer service, banter, and check ahead...but live music!More
