Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I visited the Bayview Hotel yesterday with my Dad. We arrived around 8:15pm, both very hungry after a long drive, exploring the Wild Atlantic Way in Donegal. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Our meal was delicious...fresh cod, served in a...light and crispy batter, with a lovely side salad and great coleslaw. Not impressed with the chips, though! They were ok, but I suspect they were cooked from frozen. I'd definitely return.More

I recently visited this place for a meal with a few friends and after looking forward to a simple smoked chicken sandwich I was greeted with what seemed to be a deconstructed chicken sandwich , cold chicken, coleslaw , salad and a few tomatoes and...a very skimpy looking piece of brown bread. The server said it was on the docket as a sandwich so that must be what it is. It seems this place only cares about getting people in to drink and overcrowding the place during a pandemic than actually pleasing its customers with the food.More

Room was very clean and breakfast was lovely. Hotel carpet wasn't hoovered every day, we stayed for 3 nights and the stairs carpet wasn't hoovered once during our stay. The main hotel toilet in the foyer could have been kept cleaner. The location of the...hotel is just ideal but management needs to look more closely at the cleaning of the hotel, it never felt 'clean' which is a pity.More

We had a lovely weekend break in the bay view hotel. The room we were in was very spacious and clean with sea views. The room itself was fairly modern and nicely decorated but the bathroom could do with a bit of a face lift....It was very clean and had all we could need but there were rust holes in the bath which was a little off-putting. The location was right in the middle of the town and it wasn't too far in the car from attractions like sliabh liag sea cliffs and silver strand beach. There were a number of lovely restaurants right on the hotel doorstep and a supermarket about five minutes drive away which was also very handy. We stayed from Friday-Saturday and found that a lot of the attractions in the town only open Mon-Fri off season so this is worth checking before you go but there is plenty of outdoor activities to do especially if you like hiking and walking. On the Saturday night the bar in the hotel had live music and had a really good buzz about it. We could hear the music from the room but it wasn't loud enough to be a bother and I didn't need to use the earplugs I'd brought with me. The staff were all lovely and very helpful and welcoming and we had a great time!More

Myself and my wife (in our 30s) visited Killybegs and stayed 3 nights at the bay view hotel. The hotel is looking right onto the harbour which is amazing. The food is top 👌. The staff are so friendly especially getting breakfast in the morning....The breakfast is a buffet style, you pick whatever you want out of a big range of cereals, breads, fruits, meats like sausages, bacon, pudding etc. Really great food to start the day with. The room is spacious, constant hot water, kettle, coffee, biscuits, hair dryer etc.More

Our cycling club from Trim Co. Meath are on the final leg of our WAW journey. Today we arrived in The Bay View Hotel in Killybegs. In summary we had arrived in a friendly clean hotel where the lovely staff looked after us very well....The owner Seamus Gallagher took time to talk to us and make sure everything was ok. Everyone enjoyed their meal. As a GF Veggie I wasn't too sure what to expect but I wasn't disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We later enjoyed some music and dancing as locals celebrated Niamh topping the poll in the area . All in all a lovely experience thank you.More

We called here yesterday for lunch. The restaurant was quite full but they were able to accomodate us. We both had the chowder which was excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend it.
