My wife and I called in here on a whim and found a hidden gem. I had the best fish supper I’ve had in a loooong time. Freshly cooked, non-greasy fish and chips. My wife had chicken and chips and enjoyed it just as much....We had a chat with one of the staff on the way out who recommended somewhere for a drink too. What else do you need? Very welcoming, very friendly, and great food. Highly recommended.More

Where I was staying was only steps away from this chip shop. They had there eating in sorted for Covid and there was usually a que for a table. It was that good, my husband and I got a fish, burger and a small chip each...and discovered that a small chip between us would have surficed. Staff were lovely and friendly. A good eating place if you don't want to book for dinnerMore

We visited this cafe on our staycation in Co Donegal. It was so uninviting, the staff were so rude and unhelpful. Everything is disposable so if you sit in you get disposable cutlery, cups etc. Such a waste and so bad for the environment. I...understand that circumstances are difficult but that's no excuse for ignorant and rude staff. It just seemed they were too lazy to be bothered even trying to be more environmentally friendly by washing dishes for sit in customers. They wouldnt even do a slice of toast for the kids. Very disappointed. Wouldnt reckonMore

Melly' s has the best chips in Donegal, in fact probably the best we've tasted since moving to Ireland. We are regulars to the cafe and takeaway . I am veggie, and they do have a couple of veggie options, would be great to see...it extended. Husband loves the kebabs.More

Me and my partner went for lunch today at the mellies because of all the good reviews, however, the food was very disappointing. The scampi I ordered had a weird taste and everything was too greasy. It even upset my stomach afterwards.

Overnight stay in Killybegs recently, the lady in the b&b recommended Melly's cafe for the fish and chips. We both had the breaded fish and chips, the fish was very good, cooked nice and crisp. However, the chips were a terrible let down, they were pale...and undercooked, looked like they were frozen chips not cooked enough. It's a pity otherwise we'd have been happy with our meal. The restaurant was very busy as there was a festival on so maybe that was the reason. Lovely young girl served us and was very pleasantMore

Extensive menu, we ate here on a very popular night and the food and service were still both excellent. Good potions of fish and chips and tea and all excellent value.
