We were seated promptly without a reservation. The server was friendly and efficient. The mussels were good but too much salt in the sauce, the scallop (3) dish was very good. The sea bass was great as well but the black cod was again overly...salted. The vegetables were overdone carrots and broccoli, though the potatoes au gratin were excellent. While we do enjoy salt, I’m not sure why some chef’s add so much extra.More

We were traveling in Ireland this September and were lucky enough to dine at Andersons Boathouse Restaurant in Killybegs. I highly recommend dining here if you have the opportunity. The staff is “brilliant” as they say in Ireland, they were very helpful, and served us...with a smile! The food we had was equally amazing, I’m talking delicious meals with presentation that equals the best high end restaurants at a very reasonable rate. You can tell the owners Garry and Mairead Anderson put 100% into there service, as well as their food. This is a “can’t miss” place!More

We love this place. The food here is superb, best seafood. Situated on the main street Killybegs and overlooking Killybegs harbour, the views are amazing if you eat outside. Chef Gary Anderson and his wife have successfully made this restaurant the best of Donegal. They also...run the seafood shack ,a food truck serving delicious fresh seafood situated at Killybegs harbour. We have eaten at both, and would highly recommend as a must for a trip to Killybegs. The staff are friendly and welcoming. George manager is front of house and is very good. All the staff here are very pleasant and efficient. So if you are looking for great food, people, and views Anderson Boathouse restaurant is the place. Annmarie kerriganMore

It was such a great evening we had in this lovely restaurant. We booked online as we thought that this place would be rather full on Friday evenings. Warm welcome, the staff was friendly and efficient. The food was just delicious, beautiful presentation, they could...have a Michelin star. The seabass was excellent! Wonderful wine, prices were absolutely ok. We had the chance to see the chef cook, who is also the owner and we were really pleased about this. I highly recommendMore

Visited with family and friends on a Saturday night. Beautiful setting and lovely welcoming atmosphere inside the restaurant. The menu selection was fantastic. Catering for all tastes with so many tantalising options. The scallops starter was beautiful and everyone thoroughly enjoyed both courses. The undoubted...highlight was the seafood platter. It had a sample of most of the main courses and was absolutely gorgeous!!! Nice selection of wines, drinks and deserts. For 4 adults and 3 kids the bill was €340 so certainly on the more expensive side but you don’t mind paying extra when it tastes so good. The head waiter spent time talking with us and also the chef came out at the end of the evening to check in with us. All in all a fantastic experience and highly recommend making the tripMore

The fabulous reviews were spot on for this restaurant in Killybegs. We had a starter of mussels and a main of Sea Bass. They were excellent. Book early to get a table.

When you book a table you expect to be shown to your table within 10 minutes. We waited 45 minutes in a covered area outside on a cool evening because the table wasn't free. Blankets became necessary for some. Not a great start. What saddened...me was the complete lack of management noticing this and when I did mention it at the end of the meal I was given a reduction of about 8% which was less than the extra drinks we consumed whilst waiting. The food was fine but generally I think this place is over-hyped.More

Went recently to this lovely restaurant for a late lunch/early supper. Sat outside to take advantage of the mild weather and views of the harbour but the interior is light and pretty. Smallish menu with some specials (that could have been a little more up-sold)....Service efficient and friendly and well chosen and priced wine list but the star is the food. Every single dish beautifully executed plus a complimentary amuse bouche served to one of the party who had decided not to have a starter. Delightful - can't wait to return.More
