Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The pancakes are highly recommended, unlike so many other places, they are freshly made. I ordered a latte at the same time as my pancakes and was just finishing the coffee as my breakfast arrived. I ordered a second latte and by the time I...had finished my food it still hadn’t appeared. Waited another five minutes and then went inside to pay. I remarked to the lady who took my second order that the latte never arrived and she asked if I wanted one to take away. I remarked that it would be a welcome gesture if they comped me the latte that I had actually received. The woman at the till said we’ll do it this time…I remarked to her that it was my first time in the café, given my experience that it could well be my last time and that if the gesture was made so begrudgingly that I would rather pay. I would quite happily have paid for both coffees had I received both and didn’t get up this morning with the intention of blagging a complimentary coffee from Aroma. It was their mistake, own up to it and either make the gesture with good grace or don’t make it at all. 5 Star rating if the service was as good as the food and the lovely out side seating area on such a glorious morning. However, I left with a very bad taste in my mouth.More

Having seen some of the reviews my expectations were high but I was left underwhelmed. The monkfish goujons were delicious but the portion was relatively small. Crab burger was juicy and well flavoured as was the super salad. Buttermilk chicken was dry and over cooked....It was a busy time, no tables available outdoors unfortunately. We were seated in a side room that was used for storing unwanted table umbrellas which was a bit strange. Halfway through our meal two more tables were carried in to accommodate another family. This is high season, surely the room should have been set up earlier in anticipation of the lunchtime rush.More

A really beautiful breakfast & lunch spot, the food and the staff are as great as the view. Good size portions and a menu to cater for everyone. The restaurant is very clean and has a lovely laid back seaside atmosphere. I'd highly recommend it

We waited 15 to 20 minutes after seating before we even got a drink order after seeing several people served who arrived after we did. Our waitress was very rude and said we should be patient. Our fish was fresh, but batter was greasy and...fries were undercooked. Local beer was like awful domestic American. I don't understand how this restaurant got a glowing review on Google.More

Another outstanding food spot, courtesy of Trip Advisor’s helpful reviews. We arrived in the middle of a downpour but the welcome was warm which made up for the misty and murky views across the water. I had the Mexican Chicken wrap; it was stuffed with...sriracha chicken, roasted red peppers and something that I think was quinoa. Whatever it was, it gave me a pleasant hum from just the right amount of spice. Others in the party were impressed by the homemade roasted red pepper and tomato soup and a ham and cheese toasted sandwich. Portions were generous but we managed to find a corner for a coffee and the best Rocky Road I’ve had in years (chock full of large marshmallows, biscuit pieces and topped with white chocolate chips and drizzle). Service was efficient and polite, the wait staff managing a fairly busy lunchtime without any sign of problem. If you end up in Killybegs, this cafe is the first place I’d head for.More

Visited for lunch,I had chowder and chips. Can I just say the chowder was just wonderful, so full of fish and seafood, Good bowl size also.Left me wanting more,if I lived near here,I'd be back regularly for this alone.Good side portion of homemade chips. My husband had...the fish tacos, they were nice but lacked enough spicy slaw n siracha mayo in our opinion.I spotted another diner having calamari salad and it looked nice....Would be nice to see crab claws on the menu here what with being in a fishing village... Would recommend anyone to pop in...More

Stopped in here for a meal after I visited Slieve League on the advice of a local and I’m glad I did. The full Irish breakfast they serve hit the spot. Interior is modern and I enjoyed the view of the harbor.

Had takeaway fish and chips, really looking forward to this as had a long walk on beach, unfortunately the batter on the fish we found really unpleasant. There was a herb I think was sage might be wrong but something very strong and really not...needed. Why mess with fish and chips it was not cheap, maybe some people don’t mind the taste but not for us totally spoiled it, just stick to a really good batter.More

Popped in here on a road trip because of the Trip Advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. Sat outside overlooking the harbour. Service was friendly and efficient. As for the food … absolutely delicious!! The crab ‘toes’ (claws) were so good we ordered another...portion! Lovely selection of wines by the glass too. Would definitely revisit if in the area and hope we find more like this on our travels.More
