Absolutely love the white horse! Food is absolutely amazing every time, loads to choose from. New management are absolutely incredible, so genuine, helpful and friendly, they go above and beyond every time. Recently had a baby and been here 3 times since ( all on...busy Saturday evenings ) and all 3 times staff have changed our table and given us a great table with extra room for the car seat. Incredible high standards - always clean and great safety standards at present during the pandemic. Very prompt service every time. Would highly recommend visiting this place!!More

Was so disappointed with the white horse we used to eat there all the time snd the food and service was always very good . Went there recently and the service was so bad staff strolling about like headless chickens they didn’t seem to know...what to do . Food was so bad we left most on our plates and left . It needs new management to sort it outMore

So I booked at the last min. Normally it is impossible to get a table but loads of free slots. A friend of mine told me he was there recently and the food had gone downhill but maybe he was just had a bad meal....So we go. Waiting staff were good, seemed a bit all over the place with them asking our table if we wanted to order food multiple times and similarly to the table next to us. Thought it was clear that people have ordered when menus have been handed back. But all in all the staff were polite, attentive and that's all you can ask for. Now for the food. I ordered a steak and the kids got fish and chips. The kids food was out in less than 5 mins and even the kids noted on how fast it was. Their chips were not nice. Frozen of course but it was like the fish was microwaved or something. It was soggy. As kids food goes it was the cheapest of the cheapest and they still got it wrong as it there was a microwave used. I tasted a chip of theirs and it wasn't nice. How hard is to do it fresh. So on to the steak. It was chewy. I was starving so I battled on but the sauce was not great. The handcut chips look like they get them in a bag as not great. Mushroom soggy etc. A few years back I would look forward to going there for dinner with my wife but not tonight. There has been a steady decline downwards in recent years and it has reached a low place now. All the staff seems to be new. They advertised for a chef a few months back also which is never a good thing but I won't be eating there again. Sadly there is not a whole selection of places to eat in Ballincollig. The White Horse used to be 1 or 2 but when you see that it is empty on a Friday evening people are voting with their feet. I know places are finding it hard to get staff and the like but it's like a place that will be on kitchen nightmares in a few years time. They have a huge menu with loads of options. They then have a huge list of specials also. Do 5 or 6 mains that are perfect as I presume with that level of choice they are throwing away loads of food or else the ingredients are not as fresh as they should be. They need to keep it simple but do the simple things very good as clearly the kitchen staff are not great.More

AVOID AVOID AVOID whoever is hiring in this place needs a new job, the staff are rude and should Not be working with people. The staff all staring at us as we walked in, making us feel like outcasts, could hear staff talking about us ‘...have they come here before’ Used to always love coming here, the friendly atmosphere is gone Aswell as the good Guinness I have wrote a lot of reviews on this as I like to advise people where best go to spend their hard earned money. AVOID this place at all costs much nicer places to go and sit down and not treated like outcasts.More

Had a Nacho Bowls, rest had burgers. The nacho bowls a big portion. I found it fairly poor meat was very bland and it's was all Jared or canned food. Nothing home made. All thrown together. The vibes about the burgers was that meet was...poor and soggy buns. Found it hard to get the waiters attentions when ordering drinks.More

Food was okay, fish was not great, batter was falling apart and was a bit soggy. Blue cheese burger was a bit dense but warm seafood salad was flavoursome. Strawberry cheesecake tasted like fake strawberry flavouring but the brownie was nice. We were a little...plagued with wasps. One took a dive in out cokeMore

We booked a table for outside dining two days in advance. We arrived about 10mins early and got seated straight away. Service was excellent throughout our time here. We got each course with little to no wait. The food was very tasty and well presented....There was no pressure to leave our table when we had finished. Good value for money also.More
