I have been here many times as I'm local. To be fair the carvery is great. The last few times service and the bar menu are usually good. Not tonight (23rd Jan) . Service is very poor and the quality of the food is terrible....Five of us ordered but only one of us found it satisfactory. The other four are really disappointed.I will say you have a senior member of staff that is always fantastic and he provides great service everytime we are here. He is exceptional. You need to improve service with junior staff and the food quality.More

Ate here one night of our stay. Not very nice, and quite expensive for what you get. Would not return.

Recently eat in the bar with a group of friends for Christmas As a celiac I noted menu choice was very limited but that was okay however what was unacceptable was that my server was very casual and unaware of the needs of celiac sufferers...or indeed impact of cross contamination, Having eventually ordered green chicken curry when it arrived I again questioned the server who told me “I assume it is okay for celiac” which did not inspire me with confidence. I told him to check back with the kitchen which he did allegedly. The end result was I eat the dish rather than cause a fuss as I was with a group. Alas this was my mistake as I was sick for the following day which suggests gluten cross contamination at some point, As a celiac this was a very concerning experience and one I will not be repeating. I eat out a lot and would rate this as a very poor experience I would strongly recommend the hotel management review their approach to catering for celiacs and in particular their staff training in this areaMore

Dear Guest, Thank you for your recent review of our hotel. We regret to hear that your dining experience was not an enjoyable one. Our menu does highlight allergen information and for the Thai Curry it has the following: (2) Crustaceans, (9) Celery, (12) Sulphur...More

Had a few dinners here, but the main dish i would recomend is the chicken wings as i have had them multiple times and each time i enjoyed them a lot with a nice pint of Guiness.

Pleasantly surprised that the drinks are not overpriced. Staff are really friendly and the entire hotel very nice. I would recommend the food, its delicious! I didn't find anything in the area that would compare.

This is part of the hotel and spa. Wonderful food and service and prices were comparable. The staff is very attentive and food comes out fairly quickly. Atmosphere is comfortable, yet classy and they have TVs there for you to watch local sporting events

The staff were great and the food was very good. We were on a "meal deal" and were disappointed to be handed a restricted menu. we used the a la carte and paid the extra €20 for two of us. As I say above, being...life time non users of alcohol we would have preferred not to have to dine in a bar.More

This Hotel used to be amazing for food and for service. Recently its gone massivly downhill for service and the bar food has turned from great to average. The carvery on the other hand is amazing. The turnaround on (young) staff i think is the...main cause of poor service. The wedding venue is amazing in this Hotel though and the wedding food is perfect! Pints (Lager) are good from here. Cocktails not so great. There is one waiter there who is excellent at his job and very friendly and the service checks are perfect from him. The rest of the young staff need to take a page out of his book. Its essential that service checks are done especially in a 4 star hotel. Even in the bar. Im not sure about the bistro as we dont go there to eat but im sure thats run very well. I hope the hotel goes back to its glory days soon. But again, no problems with their carvery and pints.More
