Great staff great food

Ordered the sea bass and it was delicious but huge even the sauce on the side kept me wanting one more mouthful. Staff were respectful and keen on helping, nice little touches they did too that made me feel like a valued customer. Happily went again for the rest of my business trip. Not far from the hotel caragaline too if you want to go after magreb.

Delicious, big portions.

We love Spice. The staff are very warm and friendly and the food is delicious. The takeaway portions are also very generous and always come with compimentaty popodoms and chutney and raita. I am vegetarian and there are lots of vegetarian options which is great! If you dine in, Spice is a relaxed and clean environment serving uo very tasty and filling indian food.

Fantastic Takeaway this evening. Monkfish Special and Thai Red Curry were both amazing. The Garlic Nan was the best ever. Indian food is probably the best food to takeaway... Tasted as good as it does when we sit in which I hope we get to do again soon. Thanks.

They’ve lost their edge

This used to be my favourite Indian restaurant, but it’s not up to scratch anymore. One staff member seemed to appreciate my custom, but the other was less interested. The door to the kitchen was propped open with a chair and the resulting din could easily have been a row, so loud were the voices. It didn’t seem to occur to the staff that customers might like to enjoy their meal in peaceful surroundings, especially at the prices they charge: 1 king prawn jalfrezi (4 prawns of which 1 was mushy) 1 boiled rice 1 chilli & coriander naan (too thick and dry - it lacked that just made quality completely) 1 33cl Cobra beer. €34.20 Why do Indian restaurants charge extra for rice AND for naan. Surely one should be included, like in Chinese establishments. I’m taking a break from Spice.

I am a regular to spice as I like the food and the staff. I usually collect but this time I asked for delivery because of car trouble. I waited 2 hours 15 minutes for the delivery driver to show up. The free poppadom looked like it had been picked at and the food was completely cold. I called the restaurant, the manager told me he can have a replacement meal ready and that I can collect in 10 minutes, basically defeating the purpose of asking for delivery and paying an extra €6 for it (for where I live). I used to go to this place once every week or two but I won't be going back after this experience. They've lost a good customer.

Rude service food ok Just rudely served by the waiter. We ordered tea coffee which had spilled on to the saucer no offer to wipe it clean so we did it ourselves. We brought our own Wine which Spice India encourage todo so and we have done so many times on this occasion we were asked to pay Corkage of €3 it’s not the money it’s the principle. NO wonder we were the only 2 people and 1 other customer. Overall very disappointing.

It has gone very expensive. Was very disappointed, won't be returning unfortunately. 2 curries (one vegetable) two rices, one naan bread and 2 beers and a glass of wine was €72, definitely not worth that price.

Review of takeaway

I have been a customer of this restaurant for 15 years but the takeaway I got this evening was absolutely disgraceful. It took 1hr 30 min for delivery. It was cold and of very poor standard lacking flavour & dry/ over cooked. It seemed to have been reheated. The standard has really dropped and I will not be visiting this restaurant or getting takeaway from there again.

Went for a meal here last week with 3 friends. Food was nothing special but nothing to complain about either. Waiter was friendly. When leaving we wanted to pay separately and the main guy probably the owner got very aggressive saying “ it’s 30 cent per transaction” like unbelievably aggressive I’m still shaking my head in disbelief thinking about it, my friend then offered to reimburse him the €1.20 it was costing him for the 4 credit card transactions and he grabbed the €5 out of his hand to put it through the till and slapped the change up on the counter 😂 pathetic behaviour! This is only my second ever online review but needed to be said. Even the staff behind him were in disbelief.

Unreliable, unprofessional, third-rate service.

Unreliable, third rate service and unprofessional are just three descriptions I have for Spice delivery service. Lied to on three occasions as to when food was finally to be leaving the restaurant. Over one hour late. It could have been two hours late if I had not contacted them myself. They put the phone down on me while discussing the late delivery with the manager. I will never eat at/from this place again. Ritu the other curry place in Carrigaline is far superior all round.

Best place for a tadka dal. Most Indian restaurants just do dal makhani. In my opinion, the best Indian in Douglas/Carrigaline. Heraki especially courteous and pleasant.

I loved spice Indian in Carrigaline the food was great the customer service was hit and miss , the food was Bland at times ,I've given Spice 5 times a chance each time the food was worse than before ,I stopped going there which is a shame

ordered takeaway arrived 20 mins late, very cold ,rang and was told to return the cold food and wait another 20 mins and they would send more food, had to microwave instead i was too hungry to wait ,prawns were like leather wasnt too impressed with rest of food i ordered

Wonderful experience

Visiting County Cork for the first time. Myself and my husband had a beautiful meal. Service was excellent, staff friendly and attentive, good value for money and most importantly the food was excellent.
