I stayed in the hotel here 2 nights and ate every meal here because the food was so good. I had ribs, salmon, lasagne, and 2 breakfasts. Everything was super including the service and prices. The chocolate cake was also good. Nice hotel room as...well, iffy wifi, beautiful clean pool. 1 of the best places I've stayed at in Costa Rica over the past 3 months!More

On our way to Arenal/Fortuna area from the coast and stopped in Tileran for breakfast. Sunday- most things were closed - we drove around and found this little gem of a restaurant. Staff and service awesome! Amazing Tipical and American breakfast options. Ask for a...side of sour cream with your Tipical breakfast (for the rice and beans) it’s soooo fresh and yummy!! Great little pit stop!!More

We were driving from Monteverde to Fortuna and stopped in Tilaran for lunch. We stopped at another restaurant, but it was closed, and a local directed us to this restaurant, and I am so glad he did. That meal was one of the best I...had in all of Costa Rica. The guacamole was great, but my beef sirloin tips with jalapeno (puntas de lomito a la jalapeña) was out of this world. It was in a brown sauce which tasted like mushrooms. The salad and vegetables were all very fresh. My fiance had the chicken gordon blue, and also enjoyed it. Very clean and comfortable setting. All in all, very pleased we made a stop in Tilaran.More

Excellent Local and Mexican cuisine with many offerings on the menu. I am often in town shopping when in the area and this is my regular lunch spot. I have had numerous dishes and all were good, generous, and reasonable priced. Very friendly and helpful...staffMore

This spotless and friendly hotel restaurant with an English speaking waiter served an excellent meal and the best coconut flan we had in the country.

This restaurant was recommended on a Costa Rica tourist blogpost. I'm glad we made the trek because it did not disappoint. Everyone in our party of six thoroughly enjoyed their meal (lick-the-plate-clean type of enjoyment!). I especially liked that they offered Mexican food as well...as Costa Rican, a few Italian things, a few standard American classics, and a most delicious Cordon Bleu. I'm not joking. This was the BEST Cordon Bleu I've ever had because of the sauce they put on top. It's similar to a Benedict sauce and it pairs perfectly. The food is simple, hearty, and so so so good. The restaurant is very clean, probably on the mid to upscale end by Costa Rican standards, The service was slow, but that's because they were slammed with two big parties and it seemed like there was only one cook and two servers. We didn't mind. The wait was worth it! Oh my goodness, I can't forget to mention their desserts. We ordered fiig pudding, chocolate cake with ice cream and tres leches. All were moist and flavorful. Definitely give this place a try. It helps if you speak Spanish, but it's not necessary. They try very hard to bridge the communication gap.More

Friendly staff, quick service, reasonable prices abound in this classic small town restaurant. Having eaten here several times, what brings me back is knowing the food will always be good--no hit or miss.

the menu has a lot to chose from, the service was friendly and fairly fast. The food was homemade and fresh, very tasty. I recommend the cevieche and guacamole chips, my husband had the chicken casado, even the Italian salad dressing is homemade. Very nice...lunch, I will eat here again.More

A comfortable and inviting atmosphere with free Wi-Fi and TV. I watched some of the World Cup here and they have always been courteous and accepting of me and my family. They have a good variety of food with excellent omelets for breakfast. The staff...has always been courteous and the area is very clean. There never seems to be a rush at hotel Guadalupe.More
