We stopped in for lunch at Elvira's during the Tubac Art Fair. My first impression was very good -- fun decor with lots of glass bulbs hanging from the ceiling and interesting lighting on decor. It was busy, so we sat at a high table in the bar. Being short, I was happy to find that the chairs were not... More

Having eaten at Elvira's and enjoyed it before, I was eager to take my husband there for a meal. Unfortunately, they are unable and apparently unwilling to make any attempt to accommodate someone who has to eat gluten free. After checking with two separate sources in the restaurant, we were clearly informed that they just couldn't help and we should... More

While visiting family in Tucson we decided to go to Tubac for the art festival. We ended up staying there for dinner & got a recommendation to go to Elvira's. We were very happy we did. The service and food were very good. I had the grilled flounder which was superb. The rest of the family had the chicken mole... More

Beautiful restaurant. Good food. Even better atmosphere. Plan to return on our next visit. Friendly staff. A bit pricey.

Of course, the décor is luxurious and over the top - so I loved it. Talavera and silk draperies, punched tin décor from Mexico turn up the heat. The food is so out of the ordinary for my menu that I look forward to coming here every year. Mole is heavenly and if you love spice, they have all levels.... More

A visit to Tubac is not complete without a dinner at Elvira’s. This is a beautiful restaurant and with reservations made for our party of eight, for a table this past November, we waited in anticipation of our feast. We were promptly escorted to our table and our excellent server was quickly there to take our refreshment orders. All day... More

The decor here is very cool and fancy! Hundreds of glass teardrops hang from ceiling! The food is different. My husband & I split the chicken mole. I liked it, but my husband doesn't care for what he calls "fu fu" Mexican food. He just likes traditional Mexican food.

Good food and service. Some unussual dishes. Good service and decent pricing. Ecclectic setting and good bar.

Oh my goodness! The Mole M .. the last Mole listed on the menu with fruit ... was heaven on a plate! We had the tequila shots for $0.50 with our entrees and my husband and I had a margarita recommended by our waitress which was good. But the mole was heavenly ... Pricey, yes, but didn't mind paying for... More

We stopped in on a weekday (Thursday) for lunch, before "doing" the Tubac town shops. I had the mole negro and my wife just ordered a quesadilla appetizer with chicken (she's not too keen on authentic Mexican food😏). (The "chips" were basically whole fried corn tortillas, crumbly when broken, but good with the salsa.) Both plates came fairly quickly, and... More
