We had a wonderful experience at Carey Restaurant in Bahia Drake. By far the best place we tried in the bay. The patacones, the ceviche and the fish are delicious! You can sit outside, it is cosy with a small candle. Local, clean & fresh....The owners, Maria and Juan are so lovely. We stayed at their house where they have a super comfy cabin hidden in the jungle. We slept very well and learned a lot of Spanish and Costa Rican history thanks to them. Gretaly recommended!More

Great small local restaurant. Recommended by our Air BnB host at Seaclusion House. Went with the two recommendations from the waitress which were both fantastic. Chateaubriand and grilled dorado. Large portions, great sides, prices were excellent.

I had the shrimp with garlic sauce, which came with potatoes (not fries) and a salad. All were very good and reasonably priced for the quality of the food.

Nice smaller restaurant. A bit expensive for what you get. The rating should be more like 3.5/5. Lomo Peruvian - very flavorful- the red onions are a nice touch-but I would like it better served with the Peruvian national starch—potatoes. Chateaubriand and the Peruvian beef...could have been more tender. Very nice hearts of palm salad - maybe drizzle the balsamic over the top, not just on the plate. I found it a little too late into the dish. Tables are cute but weirdly shaped so really uncomfortable. OK - our big complaint is the dogs. Dogs=fleas=diseases. Dogs have no business being in any kind of food service establishment. Too many communities just throw up their hands about the issue. Deal with it now, or it will be a real tourism stopper.More

Excellent shrimps with palm heart among the vegetables. Also very good fajitas and chateubriand. The pasta with olives not so fancy. Coffe served in thermos flask for generous refill. Good value overall.

Quiet, small restaurant with good fan breeze. Excellent service with a smile from the waitress and good chefs in the kitchen. We had a simple and tasty meal here and portion sizes were perfect - perhaps if you have a big appetite order a starter...or dessert too! Good value for money.More

Service was very slow and prices high for what it is. Plates really big and food very small. The food was very salty.

You can tell that the chef really enjoys his work. He took care with presentation and preparation. It was our favorite local place. The prices are very good for the area and the staff was excellent. Very pleasant place for a good meal.
