We are still talking about our meal here two weeks ago. We tried to get reservations 4-5 weeks ahead with no luck using Open Table. We called and got on the wait list. We called about a week ahead and she told us we were...22nd on the list, so I was thinking no way. We had decided to do take out if we didn't get in. On the day of, we started calling about 2:45 and after hitting redial probably 20 times, we got through, and she told us they could seat us outside at our requested time of 5:00 which is opening time. We got there a little after 4 so there was plenty of parking, and we left a note on the dash to let them know we were there for 5:00 reservation, and we were killing time (with a little souvenir shopping) until 5. The food is incredible. We had elote dip which we had never had before, and it is a MUST.. We liked it so much we ordered a 2nd to go one and stored it in our refrigerator at our bed and breakfast to take with us the next day to the Grand Canyon. We also had a beet salad, and our entree was carne asada. The meat was incredibly tender and so flavorful and came with black beans and rice. We always share an entree, and there was plenty with the appetttizer and salad to fill us up. The chips and salsa are quite good also. Our waiter was personable and attentive. We have already planned a return trip to Arizona next year, and we will be reserving Elote several months ahead to make sure we get reservations. It is the best Mexican restaurant anywhere!More

Everything we ordered was amazing. The Elote, Goat Cheese Balls and Corn soup were fantastic as was the Smoked Pork Cheeks and the Chocolate Pie dessert. Our food tasted absolutely wonderful. From that standpoint the meal was outstanding. Unfortunately our service was well below average...at best. Before the meal there was confusion with our drinks at the bar and getting our table. The rest of the night was just as disorganized. The entire meal's pacing was way off. Our waiter seemed nice enough but must have had too many tables. Things flipped flopped from us feeling rushed to being ignored. Too many items were brought out at the same time, then there were long gaps between courses. We would have ordered second drinks much earlier if we had the chance. By the time we got the option, my wife no longer wanted one. Dirty appraiser dishes were still on our our table after we paid the bill. Maybe it was an off night. Again, the food was amazing, but I was not impressed with the service at all.More

This quite literally may have been the best meal my husband and I have ever had. We consider ourselves foodies, and I had heard of Elote a few times. When we were in Sedona, of course, we had to try it out. We decided to...go big and order whatever we wanted. Start with the luxury margaritas... BEST marg ever. For the starter, you probably can't go wrong with anything, but I am still dreaming of the Elote Dip. It was perfection. For your entree, you HAVE to at least try the Smoked Pork Cheeks. We split it before our main entrees. It was cooked perfectly, and it made me wonder why it isn't a normal thing served. It was delicious, and I think it was my favorite thing we had. For our entrees, my husband had the Duck Carnitas (and they were phenominal). They are rich, but you can taste the time and love that was put into it. No joke. I had the Brisket Enchiladas. These two were amazing. We ended with the Mexican Chocolate for dessert. You literally cannot go wrong with anything you have here. We loved Sedona, but we decided we would for sure be back MAINLY for Elote. I'll be forever dreaming of everything we ate there. Make reservations WELL in advance, and I promise you it is 100% worth it.More

We did not make dinner reservations early enough to get a table (They book out a month in advance). So, we ordered food to go. It was amazing. A very different style of Mexican food. We have traveled extensively in Mexico and the food here...was a completely new and wonderful experience. If you order to go, they also have a limit on how many to go orders can be placed per day. You can call as early as 3 pm to make your to go order. If you get a busy signal, just keep re-dialing until they answer. I think it took us about 10 attempts but so worth it.More

We had a wonderful experience at Elote. We had the brisket enchiladas and pork cheeks and of course the Elote as a starter. I don’t care for cilantro and they had no trouble accommodating my requests to leave that off. The drinks were delicious and...the waiter went the extra mile to make sure I made the appropriate choice. I had ordered the prickly pear margarita which included mezcal. He asked if I was familiar with mezcal (I wasn’t) and described its taste and suggested subbing it with traditional tequila, which sounded good to me! The drink was excellent. The atmosphere is nice, comfortable, yet elegant. Make reservations in advance!More

I can’t really add anything that others haven’t already said, but your doing your stomach a disservice by not eating here! Best Mexican food I’ve ever had and it’s not even close!! There’s a reason it’s booked a month out!

We dined here on two consecutive nights. We dined inside at a table. There are also some booths. The dining room is not too dark, and the seating is comfortable. The entire staff (hostess, servers, bussers, etc) are welcoming, helpful and attentive. The food was...fantastic! We tasted all the Elote signature items including: the elote appetizer, lamb adobo, smoked pork cheeks, the veg mole verde, and the elote dessert. The black beans and rice served with entrees is surprisingly delicious! Portion sizes are generously comfortable. The lamb was a larger portion and can be shared. We also enjoyed a tequila flight, and the Margheritas.More

I was here a couple years ago, but the new location is a huge improvement. What remains the same is the amazing food, margaritas and service. We had the guacamole (who knew guacamole with radishes would be awesome?) and the smoked chicken enchiladas, crazy good!...You can’t go wrong with any variety of margaritas. Reservations are booked weeks in advance, so plan early. This is a Sedona must!!!!More

Skip the crystal and aura readings and immediately make a reservation at Elote Cafe. We had the smoked chicken enchiladas , brisket enchiladas, roasted corn salad, beet salad and the goat cheese appetizer. Amazing. Great blend of flavors and far from your typical Mexican fare....Even the black refried beans are not typical. It is alot of food. If you cannot get a reservation, order take out - the food is still amazing. But order early (they start taking take out orders at 3 pm and will stop when they reach a certain number.). Staff was amazing. Very friendly. Parking is limited but there seems to be enough to accommodate all diners. A “transcendental” experience. And, right across the street is a place to get your auras read and pick up a vortex map. Win win.More

Make your reservation far in advance! Elote has amazing margaritas (ask for the black diamond even if not on the menu that day). If you can’t get a reservation, call right at 5pm to order takeout and come a few minutes early to enjoy drinks...while you wait in the agave garden. Definitely a must if you’re visiting Sedona.More
