This is the one and only place that I could see to eat if you stay at the lodge. The food was great. Our group ate 3 meals a day here for six days and I enjoyed it all. The lodge store had a variety of wines, beer, milk, bread and eggs. That's really about it and there isn't another... More

We stopped here for dinner at 430pm, April 27th 2017, after our fun adventure driving all the back roads, to Rustler peak, and more, Great food, a couple beers, and great service, sat outside, and enjoyed, after our touring the mountains etc, we will be back

You might not expect much as you drive up but boy will the food and friendliness surprise you. You won't be sorry you stopped to eat. You can eat outside and enjoy the shade and breezes. We enjoyed watching a baby owl in the tree next to the café.

In the foothills of the Chiracahua mountains on the east side, it's pretty remote. It's also worth sitting a spell and enjoying some really good food.

This is the only cafe within 45 minutes' drive, and their hours are limited. We found the service to be very friendly, and the food was good. They have a small store in front selling mainly snack-type items. They had a gallon of milk for sale (just one) along with a few kinds of juices, water, and soda pop drinks.... More

Small place with wonderful views and people. A group of 6 of us did a motorcycle ride from Tucson to Portal. Great ride, views, and cafe. They also have a small store.

We love small, local places like this, which is good because choices in the Portal / Rodeo area are extremely limited. This is a tiny place with 5 tables inside & a few outside on the patio (with partial shade). There's also a back room with more tables & a huge flat-screen, but no atmosphere whatsoever. Other than being quaint... More

It would be easy to feel deprived of good dinning experiences if one lives in or travels to the beautiful but secluded Chiricahua Mountains in South East AZ. but fortunately we have the Portal Peak Store and Café to provide travelers with tasty simple cooking in a beautiful atmosphere relished by birders and nature lovers. The food runs from hearty... More

We were just rolling through didn't have a lot of time. However it was nice "stretch my legs" stop. I bought a couple beers from the General Store and sat outside next to the band shell u under the trees. It w as quiet, peaceful and just perfect for a little R&R. Don't miss this little gem if you're traveling... More
