This place has been here since I can remember, and I am about 1000 years old! Basic family-style place with hand made tamales, beans and tasty rice as sides. Good place to take a mob if you are hosting, as the a la carte and full meal plates are very reasonable, many at the $10.00 mark. Beer and wine, do... More

Quaint and clean. Not much to look at from the outside, but the service and food are impeccable. We are staying at the Pointe Hilton Tapatillo Cliffs Resort and El Bravo was just down the road. I would give this place five stars all day. Don't go for ambiance, but go for the food.

Don't let the exterior fool you. Excellent service and even better food. Try the Burro Combo. Wont be disappointed.

Went to El Bravo on lunch and got the carne asada taco meal. The meat was extremely dry and tough as it was microwaved. Beans and rice were below average. Service was friendly and decent. Far too expensive for amount and quality of food. Overall I would not recommend or return.

El Bravo is a small family owned and operated business in the Sunnyslope area of Phoenix. They have been part of this small shop scene for many years. Local folks keep coming back year after year. The ambience is very plain, except for a mural of a Mariachi band and ranks of family photos spanning the years. Seating is "diner... More

Family-run business with an unexciting ambiance. Menu offers a selection of the usual Mexican fare - tacos, burritos, enchiladas, tamales - but with more selection than most other small Mexican restaurants. For instance, there were several vegetarian tamales, not just beef tamales. We tried the chicken & green corn tamales (tasted freshly made and covered in a spicy green sauce),... More

With so Amy options for Mexican food in the area, it speaks volumes that my mom and my kids repeatedly ask to eat at El Bravo. Simple, delicious Mexican dishes at realistic prices. Love their Horchata.

We have been fans of El Bravo, on N 7th Street, since about the time we moved to Phoenix, in the late 1990's, and have weathered an expansion, and then the addition of a restaurant at Sky Harbor Airport (PHX), and such things often spell issues for the original restaurants, but not so, with El Bravo. They keep pleasing us.... More

Food was delicious. Nice atmosphere. Staff was friendly. I would definitely check this place out. Authentic and affordable. Portions were adequate and not excessive.

Our family lovs to find family owned places to eat. This is our 10 year old grandsons choice to eat out when he comes to visit. Good food and amiable family staff.
