I love restaurants that are located in historic houses. They are so charming and this place is the same. We were there for the New Year's Eve dinner and they offered a set menu. I'll be honest overall we were disappointed with the food, but...More

I went for the $80 tasting menu which knocked my socks off. Their Japanese tapas are incredible. This restaurant is a must visit if your staying in Phx. It is a short walk from Central and well worth the price. The staff was very knowledgeable...More

THIS is by far the most romantic and exceptional place to dine. Set in small rooms of an actual home remodeled into a restaurant, great care is taken of every detail including and most importantly the MENU! Wow, everything is delicate, carefully selected, and so...More

We had high expectations since TA reviews are good and a foodie friend recommended this but our experience was not good. The fish and the flavors were average but too small even for tapas and really overpriced. Service was odd, didn’t explain the menu or...More

Nobuo was a surprising find in downtown Phoenix. It is in an old house within walking distance of the convention center and many downtown hotels. Approaching the little brick house, I had a feeling I was in for a treat. Please note that there is...More

Located near downtown Phoenix in what seems to have been someone's home, this restaurant has converted the space into an intimate, user friendly venue. The menu includes numerous items of Asian/Japanese/Fusion cuisine, each one easily shared by as many as four persons. The presentation is...More

The restaurant is in a small house, I like the homey feeling about it. The servers were nice and attentive. Food though was another story, it wasnt bad. But it wasnt good enough to worth the price they charged. They want to be NoBu but...More

This is a special place with food prepared at a very high level. The signature dish is grapefruit and hamachi served on four soup spoons is extraordinary. The soft shell crab salad has the right amount of citrus tang and is beautifully composed. The desert...More

The most amazing food. A foodies paradise. He is a genius. Service the best. Presentations awesome. Only drawback in summer is that there is no AC only fans since the building is a historic house but the food more than makes up for that.

Description
Refined Asian-style teahouse by day, funky izakaya by night: Nobuo at Teeter House reflects the fascinating duality of Nobuo Fukuda.

The setting — a turn-of-the-century, wood-floored bungalow, awash in earth tones — emulates the relaxed intimacy of Japan’s izakaya, where friends and business associates gather to eat Japanese-style tapas, drink beer and have fun. Nobuo elevates the custom while staying true to its low brow roots, offering rustic Japanese classics with modern American inflections.

During the day, a short lunch menu is offered, as are exotic, aromatic teas, meant to be sipped and savored over quiet conversation.

In the evening, Nobuo creates"5-Star" cuisine, bringing a Western sensibility to Japanese sushi traditions while combining seasonal ingredients in exciting, inventive ways.
