Cute tea house, "Welsh" style, keeping up the pioneers traditions. The place recreates the old tea houses back in Wales, mixed with the local customs. During our visit we had the pleasure of listening to a local choir. They sung for us in Welsh language, as many of the inhabitants there are Welsh descendants. Lovely tea service, the ladies wore... My wife and I had Welsh Tea at Ty Gwyn in late February 2017 as part of a tour group. The physical facility is very nice - the room is large, modern and clean. We were seated at long tables with other guest and an amazing amount of typical Welsh cakes and treats. The tea was black and strong, just... More

We visited here twice while we were in Gaiman to explore the Welsh heritage of the area. Ty Gwyn follows the formula of a traditional Welsh Tea, lots of tea and bread to fill you up and a selection of cakes. The bread and tea were very good. The cakes were also good although some were rather different from those... More

It was a rainy day in Gaiman and we looked forward to a wonderful experience at a "tea house" to warm up and "have a spot". The outside of Ty Gwyn was charming; however, we should have been forewarned when a gift shop selling overpriced items was front and central in the restaurant. Overpriced and underwhelmed with the experience. The tea... More

A surreal experience, enjoying a Welsh tea (albeit at 10:30 in the morning!) in a Welsh tea shop, thousands of miles from the homeland. The "Hispanic" setting for a this Welsh welcome was simply surreal while the food, tea and general hospitality was faultless. I was with the Classic Car Rally of the Incas, one of more than a hundred... More

We stayed at Tŷ Gwyn and as a coeliac it might have been difficult but, the skills that enables them to bake wonderful cakes and scones, were used to bake wonderful gluten free pastries after the kitchen closed. If you like traditional tea then this us the place. They are generous and provide an amazing assortment.

We went there with a small group of European tourists. The house is nicely decorated, but nothing very specific about Wales, I have been 30+ times in Wales and saw things much more typical that at 'Ty Gwyn'. However, I understand that people from Argentina feel a little different, as this may be their first contact to Wales and Welsh... More

Not my favorite tea house in town, but this is still a very good one. Surprisingly no bara brith on their enormous, somewhat expensive tea spread. Caters for tourists well, and is a little more Welsh than Wales!

We came across this place on the off chance and were starving so we went for tea. Between the 2 of us we had a huge tea pot, 4 small cheese sandwiches, 4 pieces of white bread, 4 pieces of white bread, jam, marmalade and 2 of 7 different types of cakes. We see absolutely stuffed! We loved the decor... More
