My husband and I wanted to take in a Pena show while we were in Salta. Our waiter at Jovi Dos (separate review to follow) recommended La Vieja Estacion. Our hotel, Legado Mitico (separate review to follow) made us reservations. The show was terrific, although we were only able to stay for about an hour, as we had early morning... More

My husband and I went to this restaurant and pena 2 weeks ago, and it was a wonderful evening. Our dinners (carne, of course) were among the best (outside of the gourmet wine tour lunches around Mendoza) that we had in Argentina with a really attentive and fun waitstaff in a pleasant and odorless environment. But the performers were the... More

Quite a large venue in a part of town with many such. Generally recommended as the best of the bunch. We, being Irish, are well used to shows of this type aimed at tourists, domestic and international. That said, the presentation, artistes, sound system etc. were more than competent. Food service was rather haphazard but the food itself was perfectly... More

We listened to all the reviews of this place and made this a destination in Salta. The food was average (if you go, only order the empanadas, they are the only decent thing on the menu). The place is a big hall with a stage at the front. When you walk in, the place smells like a big bathroom (the... More

So this is the let your hair down, let's have a good time night. It is long tables, you are packed in, you talk to your neighbours. The service, for a large venue is spectacular. The food and drinks keep coming all night. But it is the floor show that keeps you buzzing hours after you have left. Two bands,... More

We didn't eat here, but the food looked good. The place was packed - easily the most popular in Salta and recommended by everyone. The cocktails were good though and enabled us to gain access. Didn't expect to enjoy the "gaucho evening" but the singer/guitarists were amazing and played brilliantly and the dancers were full of life and a joy... More

I was in Salta last March 2016 and my visit at Vieja Estacion made my stay very very special. I had dinner and show of Pena dance and music and it was spectacular. Food was excellent, the setting fascinating and the dancer ,dressed with tipical costumes very impressive. I had the sensation to go back to older time in Argentina.... More

Visited la Vieja Estacion with some friends and had a blast. Excellent empanadas and menu choices. Very good wine list. Dancers and folk singers late in the evening made for a wonderful night.
