this place is in the middle of the town slightly away from the visitors area. The staff don't speak English but we did OK. We ordered a 600 gram steak which we shared between two two people and it was done the way we wanted it and we also ordered a salad. All was good They only take cash.

We ate here our first night in Puerto Iguazu. The food (steak) was OK, but not memorable. The bread basket was disappointing, and the service was not much better, The location was fine - in the middle of town - but we found more interesting options for the rest of our visit. I was also bummed they did not accept... More

Whenever we are in a city that is new to us, we ask local people where to eat and where do they eat. Maria Preta was recommended by a local and we had filet mignon, french fries and salad for about $24 including the tip. Everything was nice including the service. Restaurants open about 8 p.m. in Argentina for dinner... More

I should have gone with gut instinct and left immediately. This place is really grubby. The food was average at best and the service was poor. This was the worst place we have been to in Argentina, having now travelled for two weeks.

Maria Preta is a central located restaurant. Wide range on the menu. We had river fish for a change to steak. Very pleasant. Got a bottle of torrontes for $6 which was very good. Good value place. At least one waiter speaks good English. Menu also has English translations. Opens about 7pm but not really going until about 8.

We came at this restaurant on a local recommendation. During the night it became filled with both, tourist and locals. They have everything on a menu, but hey, you're in Argentina to eat steaks. The steak was excellent and big, but slightly more done than the medium I asked. The prices are very fair. The big Beef de chorizo (beef... More

I had one meal here, dinner, on my last night. Being a vegetarian is not always easy in meat rich countries so I appreciated the good lasagna. Service was great and was able to have a single glass of wine.

Really great food and wine at excellent prices everything was great and our server was really good and friendly. He was really helpful in explaining dishes and very attentive. The desserts were great too. One issue was that my steak was ordered medium and came out very well done - I'm actually not terribly fussy and will eat anything above... More

We stayed in Iguazu for 5 days and visited this restaurant 3 times. All the restaurants serve pretty much the same thing and we are not steak connoisseurs so decided on this slightly cheaper option that does a range of meat and pasta. We did enjoy the calamari rings and there is a good sauvignon blanc (yep found on in... More

We actually wound up eating here twice because fish was available and fresh, and prices were cheap. I mean, we're talking cocktails that cost not much more than water. So all in all, it wasn't so bad. But not everything is good, and it's all served by pleasantly airheaded waitresses. The build-your-own-salad option is nice, though the canned tuna is... More
