This restaurant is fun -- and delicious. You're out in the countryside (no problem finding it with google maps in the dark), and you step into an old farmhouse. For a reasonable sum (less than US$25 with wine), you get a multi-course meal of local specialties, all expertly prepared. Make a reservation and go.

The best place of San Rafael! Good food, wines and positive atmosphere. A lot bit hard to find but it makes the place more special.

It was quite an adventure walking 1 & 1/2 hour getting here in the dark. The sign on the main street wasn't very visible, then the sign pointing to the alleyway with "50 meter" written on it made us wander into someone's backyard. It is well beyond 100 meters into the dark alley and there will be another invisible sign... More

This place is by reservation only and is open limited days and hours. Well worth the reservation to eat all homemade dishes. Italian style salt cured ham, salames, pickled eggplant, potato salad, all homemade! Then, the main dish, asado, baby kid, baby pig. you name it! When you call, the owner/chef asks what you would like him to prepare. All... More

We were welcomed to a table at L'Obrador which was loaded with 'picadas' as a starter - a great opener to our meal. The bread was freshly baked and there was a great range of cheeses, meats and olives. We were treated to the speciality dish of slow cooked beef in a rich, delicious sauce. With just a little space... More

Thank goodness we have a local friend let us know this...we would have driven around forever! It is out near the airport. If you are heading out of San Rafael, when you see the Super Amuch on the right, Bentos road will be on your left. Turn left and you will see the signs for the restaurant. If you go... More

We arrived early, just after 9pm. Homey atmosphere and the table already had fiambres (cheese and cured meats) waiting with 3 types of flavoured mayo, good white bread, olives and tomatoes with basil and olive oil and quite a bit of it at that. They were playing a dj set of "hardstyle" (heavy techno) which was pretty out of place... More

Giving credit where credit is due...we went to this restaurant after reading other Trip Advisor posts. It happened to be my husband's birthday and we wanted something out of the ordinary. What we found was this wonderful gem, somewhat off the beaten path and worth the ride...the menu is limited to what the owner/cook has on hand each day, but... More

Being married into an Argentine family we eat empanadas and BBQ all the time but this was on a whole new level. When we first walked in the table was set with amazing appetizers and a bottle of wine only to be followed with the best empanadas I have ever had. Then came the main course which was out of... Great food. Friendly atmosphere. Large portions. Owner run. Not much variety for non-red meat eaters.
