Nice comfortable little Italian restaurant in downtown Mendoza. One peculiar thing I like about restaurants is when you have professional waiters, that have been serving for a long time. This is the case of la Barca. The pasta is great, fresh, with Italian flavor. The...tiramisu was excellent, better than in some places in Italy, with an excellent ristreto made it perfect. I would have liked more high end wines available, but for a casual lunch it was really great.More

After wandering around downtown on a quiet, chilly Saturday my wife and I were famished. We happened across La Barca and ventured inside, comforted by several tables occupied by locals. The waiter spoke less English than my Spanish (no mean feat), but steered us away...from one wine to a better variety (same price). We needed no help on the pastas, ordering the beef lasagna and a veggie cannelloni. Both dishes were superb, complemented by the house Malbec. This isn't a fancy restaurant: our tablecloth had holes in it, and the average age of everyone concerned (staff and customers) is over fifty. So as long as you're interested in the food and not a chi-chi ambiance, you'll like La Barca.More

This is a nice restaurant, local cuisine with an Italian touch. I tried the beef steak (of course, this is Argentina), with mashed pumpkin and some Malbec La Cava. At the end, Intried a very good local brandy (house recommendation).

We lived close by. The service sometimes maybe was not to fast, but food, coffee was delicious. We liked the local atmosphere in here. Used to come with friends for breakfasts and lunches.

At La Barca they greet you like a long lost friend. The steaks there are wonderful. We had the Bife de Corizo and and the Bife de Lomo (both with a mushroom sauce and with a pepper sauce). There is a good selection of local...wine. The cappuccino they make is incredible. Everything is excellent quality and excellent value. We enjoyed this restaurant so much we went four times over a two week visit to Mendoza. Highly recommended.More

Typical Argentinean restaurant frequented by popular places outside the tourist route. Good food, homemade pasta (warns you), low prices compared to other tourists in town. Worth knowing.

Ordered a lasagne, spaghetti bolognese and 2 caprese salads. They took an hour to arrive. Pasta dishes were great and went down very well with the kids, mozarella was horrible. Big gripe though was the food took an hour from ordering which is way too...slow at lunchtime.More

We ate here twice while in Mendoza - once for lunch and returned for dinner the next day because we were impressed. Excellent service, all the staff were very friendly and professional. The pasta was delicious and fresh. I had the lasagne bolognese which was...delicious, and my boyfriend had the sorrentinos which was also so tasty. We returned for bife de chorizo the next night, which was cooked to perfection! It is very reasonable for the food and service you get. Simple restaurant without any fuss!More

We were looking for somewhere for lunch and found this restaurant just away from the main area. Initially the relatively limited menu and slightly plain outside nearly put us off but on the basis that the inside was largely being host to locals we gave...it a go and glad we did. We were made to feel welcome from the outset and my steak and partners chicken with tarragon sauce were up there with the best we have sampled in Argentina. If you want good wholesome cuisine with an Italianish leaning you would do well to seek this restaurant out, just don't be fooled into thinking the outside doesn't warrant it! Oh, and it was also good value for money.More
