Excellent place to dine very tasty Spanish food. I recommend especially the omelette of potatoes and the squid. There are good tapas too. The place is small but it has its appeal. At noon usually is always full so maybe the best is to go at night. The average price is a bit high but definitely worth it.

Current assessments are better than the cuisine in fact is. The service cannot communicate in English, which might cause problems for foreigners during ordering. Although the service is very nice and helpful. The atmoshpere of this place is nice and it might be a good spot for a dinner with friends.

A fun place for dinner that you can choose something other than beef! The tapas plate we ordered was a nice selection of cold and room temperature tapas! Nothing outstanding .....the Black Risotto was fabulous!! The have a nice wine list. I do recommend that you make a reservation as you could end up sitting at the bar, or worse... More

The restaurant from the outside doesn't look too fine, inside it's a bit tight, not very bright... But the food is amazing. All we asked on the table was great tasting. Totally worth the visit for the food (forgetting about the furniture and the place appearance). We could tell it has its frequent customers Spanish Food lovers, we wen't on... More

Interesting Catalan influences Resto I was drawn to in an effort to avoid yet more beef. I arrived early and even though the restaurant was less than half full the frumpy maitre d'elle insisted I sit at the very uncomfortable bar. The waiter at the bar was in love with himself and the restaurant and made it very clear that... More

Excellent Spanish food! Good service despite how busy it is. I came for lunch ans I tried the baby calamars with potatoes, very recommended!. You feel like in Spain in a Tapas place with your caña de cerveza.

Went trusting yelp reviews, place didn't disappoint! They have an english menu, seating is very spanish and the bar is awesome. They have some great wines and the food is just amazing. I ordered the black risotto with octopus, squid and shrimp in it. It was delicious, really look me back to Spain. I ordered a glass of Malbec and... More

Tancat is a very busy Spanish Restaurant near St Martin Square in the busy part of the city. The price of dishes are reasonable and the cooking is exceptional. We especially liked the Risotto with octupus and black ink squid sauce. The portions are also very generous. A good place to go for a casual meal.

I went with friends 2 nights ago. They had found it on Trip advisor . I enjoyed it so much I went back last night The food, service and atmosphere were all great. They have tapas and an interesting selection of other dishes. It's probably a good idea to get th ed re before 8pm unless you have a reservation.... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
