We stumbled upon this restaurant when walking through San Telmo one evening. There is a wide selection of food available on the menu at a reasonable price. The staff despite not speaking English were very attentive and friendly.

Ate here twice while in Buenos Aires and were not disappointed either night! The head waiter immediately made us feel very welcome and at home even though he spoke no English and we only spoke a few words of Spanish (English is not widely spoken...More

We ate here 3 times during our stay in San Telmo. The staff were absolutely great. The outside seating perfect, and the food selection awesome. The only part that was a little disappointing was the chinchulines, which were a little on the rubbery side.

I rarely will not finish the food on my plate, but I had to make an exception while eating at Don Ernesto. I would give the place only one star but their potato/chicken salad was a pretty good appetizer. Then I ordered a steak. It...More

My friends had visited Don Ernesto over two years ago whilst travelling South America. They made bold claims of the best steak ever that you could cut with a spoon! Although I have eaten better steak, I certainly enjoyed my generous meal. A juicy fat...More

The bread and green onion spread you get for your service charge is so delicious, we filled up on it. The main dishes were great. The seafood casserole is literally just a large bowl of seafood which was a nice surprise. Don't expect the most...More

Tipical porteña parilla al carbón, with nice garlic french fries, salads and a spectacular Tiramissu. The "vacío" is a good choice as well as the traditional "bife de chorizo". A "must go" restaurant in San Telmo.

This place used to be excellent. Now it has gone downhill and will soon hit the bottom. The bife was tough and not tasty. Service was so-so. We saw a not nice creature scampering along the wall. Subesquently we were told the previous staff were...More

The Steak was the worst I've ever had in Buenos Aires. Ordered "medium-rare", got a steak "well-done". Unacceptable! I returned the piece, but even the second one was far from good! The cut was mediocre as well and so were the side dishes. I know...More

I have eaten here on numerous occasions, it's a very simple restaurant in the centre of San Telmo, perfectly positioned between a pub and boutique hotel. Good service and relaxed style, it's become a regular haunt as I've needed to eat outside normal dining hours...More

San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San
Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made
Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many
different cultures: a true child of immigration, much
like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after
dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both
locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee
hours of the morning. During the day, the antique
