Argentina is known for its beef – nothing new there – and unless you’re a vegetarian you will no doubt want to sample (at least one) Argentine steak. Well our two weeks in Argentina was not entirely fuelled on steak, but not far off;) For our last night in Argentina we wanted that one last steak, and for some time... More

Great food. Mouth-wateringly tender and well seasoned, perfectly cooked ribeye steak. Good key lime pie. Wine list comprehensive and the waiter recommendation reasonably priced and delicious

During our visit in Buenos Aires in December 2016 we went to that restaurant 5 (!) times with 5 adults ... and we had 25 superb pieces of meat. Bife de Lomo cooked to perfection (medium rare), good food in general, reasonably priced including the wines. Very friendly to our grandson (2 years old); all staff friendly. To be recommended... Found this resturant as we were walking down a side and popped in. Great food and welcomed in English, the waiters we're friendly, helpful and the Malbec cheap. What more could you want from a steak house! Lastly a very reasonably priced menu

We ate at four very good parrilla type restaurants in central Buenos Aires over a three full day visit. They were all very good, I think that Al Carbon was rated highest of our choices in Trip Advisor and it was good. It is recommended. But, the proverbial but, Al Carbon was not tops in our four chosen.,,that has got... More

Waiter was very attentive and food was delicious. The steak was excellent, the wine was maintained chilled in ice bucket, and they had a fabulous desert selection. Overall worth every dollar.

Lovely service, đelicious steak, no rush! It is more expensive, but will worth the cost for a delicious steak and great wine list.

The beef items on the menu are incredible, so tender and tasty. We had a few appetizers like the cheese plate, and some salads which were very standard. They were out of fresh veggies which was kind of strange. Go here if you want a fancy meal!!

Having visited a number of Argentine steak house over the last week I was far from impressed, too much hype and nothing particularly special, until that is I visited La Carbon this evening. An absolute gem, the food staff and ambience were exactly what I had expected from Argentina and more. Had the plain rib eye and have to say... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
