Really good food and great service, no English service. The waiter was very friendly and we manage to communicate well

Outstanding food. I had the best Callos madrilenos I ever ate outside of Spain. Service a bit slow, 3 big screen TV an unwelcome distraction ( at least for me ) this is after all not a sports bar. The service is...shall we say, lacking. But the food is worth it. BTW: There is no such thing as cheap eats... More

Choose your day wisely. If you plan to have lunch on Sunday, you might have to wait a long time before having a seat. The place is crowded, so expect also a noisy environment (like many local restaurants). Nevertheless, it's worth the visit. It's a great opportunity to experience the taste of Spanish cuisine from the same family running the... More

I visited this restaurant after seeing the positive reviews on Trip Advisor, but was very disappointed with our meal. Our server ignored us the entire meal, but was attentive to other tables. He was on his cell phone most of the time, so we had to work to flag him down for our check. The food was average, although my... More

Went for dinner based on decent reviews and what we experienced was awful. Waiter just took our order and dropped of our food, never asked us if we wanted more water or even asked us if we liked our food. He intentionally skipped our table as he would go to make his rounds. Not sure what was his issue was... More

Not a fancy place but nobody is pushing you out. The food is very good being the Paella Valenciana and the Puchero my strongest recommendations.

El Imparcial is billed as the oldest restaurant in Buenos Aires (1860), and the first place to have washrooms for their customers! It specializes in pucheros, which are large dishes of meats and vegetables to be shared by 4 or 5 people. They also have a range of the more common local foods. I've only been once because the sopa... More

Founded in 1860 by an Spanish Immigrant, moved to the actual site in 1933. For me is a one-dish-restaurant : Puchero , a casserole meal which includes different kind meats as beef, chicken , and a "Red chorizo",

The varied food menu has, not surprisingly, a particular focus in seafood. The tuna steak "a la imperial" is to recommend and was fairly priced at 190 pesos. The ambience allows for comfortable conversations since tables are far from each other. The service is good. good and fairly priced at $190 pesos. The ample salon

Great food and service. We went on a New Year's eve package that was expensive but good. It included more than we could eat or drink. They gave us a reasonably good exchange rate on our dollars, as we had just arrived and had not had a chance to exchange money.

Thank David T

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
