We were looking for a bite to eat after Teatro Colon (left at intermission, so not sure if it is open really late). The service was friendly and efficient. The welcome naan (at home the custom is pappadams) was served with three sauces. The yogurt & mint was our favourite ... nicely picante. We shared a prawns in chick pea... More

Now I understand why Indians eat with their fingers, don't want to miss any speck of Indian food done right! The food, and drink, at his restaurant explosion of spices and flavor. I had the Tikki Masala, which is too good for words. Makes me forget Argentina is the land of steak and ice cream...

We've been searching for authentic, proper Indian food in Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and Colombia and this is the best we've found by far. The flavours are proper Indian (ask for spicy), the chai is great and the service is fantastic with Indian chefs in the kitchen. we a group of 8 from india enthusiastically dined here one evening and liked the food, although the staff especially the man calling the shots was haughty and arrogant. Nextday we came for lunch and we were aghast to see that the charges for dishes were 3-4 times higher than the displayed in the show window. On enquiry, this arrogant... More

Decent food. Okay service but a couple of staff who refuse to smile and would relentlessly talk amongst each other, and if asked a question should gape at you as if Gould dropped from the sky. The decor is awful. Keep your eyes open when you look around. It might remind you of a zoo! ( Spotted a roach on... More

We just came from that little restaurant. It is just too small for a baby carriage (we had our baby with us) so we didn't feel very well there and everyone eating there was watching us very strangely. We decided to have our dinner as take away. The food was realy authentic! Great flavours and big portions. Just dont ask... More

Waiters dressed in traditional Indian attire, warm welcome set a stage for a good meal. Wine list was adequate and the food was superb. Would definitely go back, when we return.

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
