Of all the places we've eaten in Buenos Aires, this is our FAVORITE place! [Some] of the fancy places, like Don Julio, ARE great (and worth it and you should definitely go) but when we finally visited La Escondida last year after many years passing it by (see my review from last year), we loved it so much it was... Greatest wine we had in Argentina. Unheard of for a large group meal. We had both the local array of grilled beef dishes called, Parilla, as well as delicious salads.

Best rib-eye and a bottle of wine for less than $20. Service was slow, but that's how they roll in BA.

Local Argentine Paririlla that was recommended to us as it is family / child friendly. We are travelling with a three year old, and really wanted to have a night out experiencing a local Parrilla. La Escondida, gave us just what we were looking for. A relaxed authentic Parrilla experience that also catered to children. There is a play area... More

Located in the popular Palermo Soho area, this Argentine parrilla didn't meet my expectations. Prices are reasonable and portions large enough for sharing. On the plus side, there was the unlimited salad bar which is free with a main course or 95 pesos without. This seemed good value. The quality of the Asado was poor, mine was rare instead of... More

Visited here for a special meal with friends. The dining is mostly semi-alfresco and casual (beer tables). The salad bar was great - good variety, fresh ingredients. We also enjoyed the grilled cheese to start - yum! The meat was somewhat disappointing. We tried 3 different cuts of beef. They were all incredibly tough and a bit inedible. I left... More

Almost warehouse like , nice, no nonsense looks, with many families eating with their young children, in a trendy neighborhood. Parrillada is great, with lovely chorizos and morcillas plus a great salad buffet ( included with a main dish). Nice traditional desserts and good wines. Very reasonable prices, may be slightly above average. Go for it and enjoy a nice... More

First, we had to send back the beer because it was warm. They didn't have anything cold yet so we just had water. The huge disappointment of the night was the meat. The vacio was pure fat, overcooked, and warm, not hot. The molleja my husband had ordered was dry and warm. We got our food just ten minutes after... More

Great value. Order a main and have access to a free salad bar. Good size serves. Ordered the ribeye and a brochette with my husband. Delicious and well priced. Nice to have a salad bar as well: decent options.

Perfect meat! Especially the 'filet de lomo' is highly advisable! Service is nice but sometimes a bit slow. A huge salad bar is included if you order a main dish. Prices are reasonable. All in all definetly worth a visit!

Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
