Great authentic Argentinian grilled meats. I especially liked the kidney and the glands. Their steaks are really juicy too.

The place is great with excellent cuts and good service. The place has a loud environment but it is a lot of fun. We tried a bit of everything so I can safely say get anything you wont regret it. The main problem with this location is that you can't really make a reservation so you have to wait.

Wonderful food.Try to go early, as the place is usually packed. Just ask your waiter to recommend something to you.

I think the best beef I had in Buenos Aires was in El Pobre Luis. The service was good, the waiters were kind, the wine was good and the price was ok. It was a great choice.

We payed a ridiculous amount of money for two steaks that were of average quality. The flan with dulce de leche tasted like cough medicine. Extremely expensive for what we got. Avoid this place!

Ambience good as usual, service decent, food very weak! Provoleta, sausage, fries ok. But they brought wrong type of fries. Morcilla (blood sausage) was cold. Meat served was hard and the bife uruguayo that comes in 3 pieces had one that was way over cooked and hard... clearly they had a left over from another order and tried to stick... More

El Pobre Luis is an "always full"- classic Argentinean Grill Restaurant... It's fare to mention that Luis Acuña, the founder was originally from Uruguay!!!. The restaurant is located in Belgrano neighborhood and it's easy to park on the street. Sweetbreads, kidneys, and all of the main meet-based courses are really delicious. Price is average, ARS 700 (USD 45) per person... More

We came here with a big group of 15-18 people. It was a mess getting all the tables but the wait was worth it. The food is very good and the service implacable. Of course you must have meat! The Mollejas are great to start with followed by some meat selection (3 different cuts in one plate). That's what I... More

Staying in Belgrano

Neighbourhood Profile
Belgrano
As one of the main commercial hubs of Buenos Aires, Belgrano has something for everyone. The myriad of shop windows in Cabildo Ave. will draw you in, but it is Chinatown — an area of no more than two square blocks — which will keep you hooked. Crowned by an ornate arch marking its entrance and filled with small stores packed to the brim, it is a place where colour and scent emanate from every corner, particularly during the Chinese New Year when they spill over to surrounding areas. But if you prefer a quieter atmosphere, the residential quarter of Belgrano is the perfect destination. This section of town features some of the most magnificent mansions in the city, spread out on cobbled streets lined by tall, majestic trees: a true feast for the eyes.
