I recently stayed nearby this restaurant and decided to try it for dinner. It didn't look very touristy. Its interior and waiting staff were very traditional. The first time I ordered a 1/2 rib eye steak with french fries. The steak was tender and grilled...More

After scouting Trip Advisor I found Rio Alba was close by. Very old fashioned interior, but I found the food lovely. 480 pesos for a very large, thick slab of steak. That’s about £20. Back in London, you’d be paying £50+ for something of that...More

Went there to get some takeaways to bring back to the hotel and they were extremely friendly and helpful. I had no idea about what to order and they patiently gave some suggestions and showed me some meat cuts. Food was delicious!

Even though it´s not set downtown in the city, if you´re staying around the area, Rio Alba is a must. There are steak houses just as good as this one, but not in the Recoleta/Palermo area. Rio Alba stands out as and classical porteño restaurant,...More

Always busy even at odd times, call for reservation. Waiters do not take notes, they just remember everything. Worth noting is they also give reasonable advice. When I chose a steak the waiter looked at me and said: too big! Wow, fortunately I followed his...More

The steak is outstanding here. Medium Rare comes out medium which is exactly the way I wanted it. The wine selection is good and the staff is attentive. I had dinner here twice.

Buenos Aires, like most big cities, has its fair share of modern restaurants. Rio Alba is not one of them. It's a place where the tables have white tablecloths and the waiters, wearing starched white aprons, try very hard to ensure you have a great...More

Sorry to say that I'm not sure. We went in the evening on a week night. They don't seem to have a website but perhaps some of the guides (Fodors, Lonely Planet or BA tourism) might have this information. Good luck.
