About 2-3 blocks from the American Embassy, a favorite with the diplomats. Packed for dinner and on weekends not so much at weekday lunches. Has charm, great steaks and old school waiters. We had the rehearsal dinner for our son's wedding here a few years ago and rented out half the Restsurant. It was memorable. Even though the guide books... More

Excellent local restaurant and Parilla. Not a tourist destination. Very good neighborhood place with a large number of local loyal clients. It is not a small place. Limited hours. Good food.

We went there to meet a family friend. Meet very good, as often in Argentina. Good wine. Papas fritas also tasty. Price reasonable. The place is nice and the waiters are friendly.

My fiancé and I had a lovely dinner here of a goat cheese and avocado salad to start followed by a large steak cooked to perfection - the waiter literally cut it with a spoon! My fiancé is not a big salad guy, but he actually asked them what portion of vinegar to olive oil they used for the vinaigrette... More

Fantastic steaks and great side dishes, a roaring grill in the kitchen and we had a friendly, funny waiter who was very attentive.

As regular travelers to Buenos Aires, we have been to many of the famous steakhouses in BsAs. We always enjoy Rio Alba--great food, local crowd, fair prices. We think the experience is better than Las Lillas, La Cabrera, Fervor, etc. It is not on the tourist route so enjoy a nice steak with Argentineans.

Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
