We had dinner here and it was simply delicious. We got an appetiser, two salads, potatoes, grilled meats and two desserts (recommend trying the dulche de leche) and it came up to USD80 per person. Lovely ambience too.

We ordered a menu with aperitif, appetizers and 3 courses and expected a very nice dinner with good Argentinian steak - as described in the menu. the steak was described as a 400 grams steak. They served the main course while we still were eating the first course, and the 400 grams steak was very very thin (app. 8 mm)... More

Visited this on a Thursday night after work. Was not very busy. Starters were great. Service was very good. Main course (bide de chorizo) was quite ok, although a bit more cooked than what we requested. It is a nice restaurant, next to the water, reasonable prices for what you can get.

PROs- nice ambiance/outdoor seating in Puerto Madero. Great service by our Portuguese/Spanish and English waiter. CONS- overprices for what you get! We ordered Chateaubriand and had to send it back. It was as tough as horse meat. It should be like butter. We complained and asked for a new one. The waiter then brings us another cut of meat and... More

The food was good, but the service was very disorganized. My wife ordered a main course and glass of Sauvignon Blanc wine from the menu. The waiter came back and said neither was available. The other two whites available by the glass were not Sauvignon Blanc and they were unwilling to open a different bottle and serve it by the... More

Very good and beautiful restaurant, with a fair price. Best meat I've ever had. Service was very good and the decoration of the place is classical and romantic.

The Scene: We were recommended La Cabana by my parents who have visited every time they come to Buenos Aires. Having read the positive reviews online, we figured we couldn’t go wrong. Positives: The restaurant is located near Puerto Madero, which is a great part of town and overlooks Rio Dique. The staff are all very friendly and there was... More

We were here on a magazine recommendation. The place wasn't crowded on a Thursday evening so we had a table at the terrace. The waitress was very friendly and made our meal very pleasant. Menu showcases all main cuts in Argentina. Portions are generous. Our steaks were cooked to specifications. Sides were ok noting great. This place lives out to... More

We ate there with friends during our short stay in Buenos Aires. It had bee recommended as a really good steak restaurant by the tour guides. The evening we were there they must have been living on their past reputations but we all found it wanting. Nice dining space with a great terrance overlooking the river but that was where... More

Description
LA CABAÑA is the most traditional restaurant in Buenos Aires. Established in 1935, it serves the best Argentine beef on the grill accompanied by excellent wine, a menu that turned La Cabaña into a source of inspiration for local cooking and that has been widely replicated all over the town.We invite you to enjoy any of our grilled beef cuts and, if you are willing to wait for an hour, you can have a unique experience tasting our classic "Great Baby Beef" - we suggest you do, savoring a glass of wine and in nice company. You do not get to know the purest Argentine cuisine without visiting our restaurant.

Staying in Puerto Madero

Neighbourhood Profile
Puerto Madero
From its refurbished red brick buildings and port cranes to its modern skyscrapers and luxurious apartment buildings, Puerto Madero is the perfect combination of old and new. The river provides a quiet, relaxing atmosphere that contrasts with the hustle and bustle of heavy traffic just blocks away. Across the river, flanked by skyscrapers, are beautiful parks and quiet streets that make this neighbourhood a unique destination in a city as busy as Buenos Aires. The restaurants, bars, and nightclubs on the docks make it a prime spot for nights out and have come to symbolise this area. Puerto Madero is even more striking after dark, when the lights from the docks and skyscrapers glow against the night sky.
