I go to the River Deck when I need to recharge, and usually during the morning. It is quiet, peaceful, and breathtakingly beautiful. I usually settle myself into a comfy chair right next to the river with its soothing sound, with a good book, where I most often enjoy good service and good coffee. I ordered fruit salad this morning,... More

The ambience is rusty and relaxed and it certainly fits the location next to the Goukamma river. Prices are exorbitant though, for a small Bobotie with rice almost R100, a roosterkoek (which is basically a bun baked on an open fire) with sausage and sauce at R50. The waitress tried her best, but it seems like the service from the... More

Well we arrived and the place was a bit busy, we had to call for a waiter 4 times before getting service. We placed our food and drinks order as to avoid delays. However the passion fruit and lemonade came in the smallest of glasses at R29 each, the small milkshakes at R25 is a complete rip off for the... More

We arrived here (10 people) and we sat down at a dirty table, which we could understand as the place was a bit busy. We waited about 15 minutes before we had to go and call waiter to come and help us. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time as we knew we were going to wait... More

Beautiful place to visit in summer and spend a few hours. The service isn't very fast but the food is home cooked and delicious. It is a bit expensive though, but worth it for the view and the kids can rent kayaks and stay busy. Will be back.

From good home cooked meals, great freshly baked cakes to a visit to their small spa. The resturand has a small menue, however what is on offer is all good, from Pizzas to traditional braai and all ther rest in between. The service is good and the setting rustic and relaxing. Go in winter and sit at the fire in... More

Bobotie is BRILLIANT! Chicken curry is mediocre. Bean soup is HIDEOUS pureed baby food. Quite tasteless. Chicken pie leaves a lot to be desired. Braai with pap is GOOD. Potjie lunch specials are tasty good value for money - 3 courses for R100

Now the food isn't amazing, it's not by any means fine dining but it's tasty and not expensive. It's the venue, it's fun on the river bank. You can swim or hire a canoe or peddle boat, it's a great safe place for kids, they can run wild. The building is a ramshackle series of huts but it works, it's... More

I booked accommodation for at riverdeck for 3 nights and found the service and reception terrible. I had a little altercation with one of the owners who refused to let me swim in the river whilst there were other people swimming. It was evident that this was racial as I swam in that same section before that, and after the... More
