We had another superb meal here. We love the decor almost, but not quite!, as much as the food - bare, exposed brickwork in a central Cape Town location make for an original (it was established fifteen years ago), chic setting. The food is excellent, with meat dishes usually most prominent on the menu but delicious fish (try the yellowtail)... More

Savoy Cabbage, despite being one of the most recommended restaurants in Cape Town, has a friendly and laid back atmosphere. The decor is awesome and we had the pleasure of sitting right above the open plan kitchen, allowing us to watch the masters at work. The menu is short and sweet and the chef was flexible to accommodate special requests.... More

Having read about this place I was looking forward to the evening and was not disappointed! Delicious food, good ambiance. Service was excellent. On the advice of a friend I skipped the starter to save room for dessert. And was so glad I did. Divine!

We stayed at the Cape Heritage Hotel and went through Heritage Square and came in to the restaurants first floor mezzanine. We were greater warmly and seated immediately on the mezzanine overlooking the restaurant. Our waiter was helpful and quirky. She had excellent wine recommendations. I wanted a white wine to go with the lamb and were given two glasses... More

All staff was very nice and friendly. Keen yo discover further South African wines, they offered me a very cosy and friendly wine tasting, recommended a fantastic liquor shop, so definitely doing a lot more than what you expect in terms of service in a restaurant. Food was also very good and tasty, meat perfectly cooked with a good wine... More

Pleasant décor with a bit of humour - Bishop Desmond Tutu swinging on a chandelier. Great service by a friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff. The food? It's good, but nothing to write home about. I cannot comprehend the raving reviews here. The generosity may be the result of a glass too many of the very good wines served here.

Grilled kabeljou with green olive tapenade and black caviar...excellent entree. Very good service, pleasant surroundings, quiet enough to carry on a conversation...highly recommend for a good dinner experience in Cape Town.

This restaurant was suggested by the concierge at our hotel Cape Heritage. Turned out to be excellent advice. We had warthog and hartebeest which were both fabulous. Great wine list and we both had a glass of the excellent South african port to finish. Great service from our lovely waitress.

Well judged cooking. I had the zebra loin which, as a Brit, I was slightly worried about. I needn't have. It was delicious. My wife had the lamb which was cooked to perfection. Friendly service with a smile and an excellent bottle of wine.

Enjoy creative contemporary cooking in a visually exciting venue. With its historic Table Mountain stone and old brick that dates back to the 18th century, architect Leon Saven's design is complemented by glass, concrete and exposed ducting. Cabbage motif chandeliers and salt dishes, fine table appointments and impeccable service reflect outstanding attention to detail. The menu alters daily, using the freshest local produce and combines unusual flavours to excite the palate of the discerning diner. A boutique wine list which is very reasonably priced.
