Don't be deceived by the outward appearance. We chose this restaurant at the end of a very long day of traveling, because we were tired and hungry. The staff were very polite and helpful, and the food was a joy.

We tried this one night and kept coming back. There are various vegetarian options. The service is friendly and helpful, too.

After a previous review I returned for the all you can eat menu on 13 February. A busy Saturday night, when we arrived early at 18h00 the restaurant was fairly quiet, but by 20h00 was full. We had the all you can eat for R150, and was brilliant. You can a wide selection of Thai food, and also the sushi... More

In a city stuffed with fine dining experiences this street-side restaurant stands out as serving some of the worst food in Cape Town. It was a warm evening and inside it was hot - there were NO fans and the single air conditioner could not cope. After my over salty Thai Tom Yum soup for the first time in my... More

We arrived in Cape Town on New Year's Eve and wanted somewhere to eat before going into the V and A for the celebrations. We came across Shin Thai and were not disappointed. Spotlessly clean, good service and tasty food. Unbelievable value, starters and main courses for four plus two bottles of excellent house wine (sauvignon blanc) came to less... More

This is a relatively unprepossessing restaurant on Regent Road, the main shopping street at the south end of Sea Point. From the outside it looks like many of the other Asian restaurants on the road, offering mainly Thai foods. Inside is very nicely laid out with comfortable seating. Once inside, one of the offerings is the Buffet manu, which is... More

85 Regent Road, but its far easier to say right opposite the Spar shopping centre. Having lunch I had the red prawn curry with prawns and it was divine. The presentation exactly what you'd experience in Thailand, as was the flavours and spices spot on. A few different veggies like green beans and more marrow, but that I guess is... More

The food was good and fresh. The decor was simple but pretty and the tables and cutlery was very clean. Service was good, take available.

Had a fabulous meal at Shin Thai. Everything was very fresh and very good quality. The restaurant is spotless, staff very obliging and the food is excellent value for money. Great to order the buffet and then share, especially the sushi.
