After hearing from friends how great this place was we visited with high expectations. It wasn't busy so we decided to sit at the carousel to get quick access to the sushi buffet - big mistake - I don't even know why they have a carousel as there were literally ten items on it, which stayed there most of the... We have been to the Golden Fish a number of times for the Sushi Buffet and have never been disappointed. They always have new items on the menu and the Sushi is fresh and very tasty. They are not the cheapest buffet in Cape Town, but are pretty good.

We went as a family of 5. We went on recommedation of good friends but found our food not up to standard. The waitress was good, friendly, joked with our boys but food was a let down. We did order sushi starter but it was not made to standard we were led to believe they served. Our main meals were... More

The best in town, from Salmon roses to tempura prawns. On a Mondays to Wednesday eat as much as you can.

Oh dear! Such a disappointment! The food was overcooked and tasteless and the service was abysmal. An absolute worst review that I hope to ever report on... We ordered Spring rolls, Chicken wings, Duck and Singapore Noodles. The food took nearly 40 minutes to arrive and the restaurant was empty! When the food arrived it was overcooked, dry and tasteless.... More

This restaurant has lost its Asian authenticity and is only surviving due to the Sushi Specials it has, which in it self isn't bad admittedly. The Asian vibe isn't there and has become more European, now with an Entertainer ( which I think is a bit much).

The menu is good and the prices reasonable. Well prepared food and large portions. It will not rock your socks off, but it is worth a try. You have a nice view over the sea and it has a relaxing ambiance. They offer Sushi buffets at a very good price.

Decided to try their Eat All You Can Buffet as friends kept raving about it. Why, I don't know. The sushi is not terribly awful, but not great either, really just edible, bulked out with lots of rice, springrolls were truly awful, and beware if you order or take something and don't like it or can't finish it you will... My wife and I enjoy sushi had been told by a few people we should try Golden Fish, so we decided to give it a try as we wanted to eventually take friends of ours there who had also been wanting to go. We went on a Wednesday evening at about 7pm, the restaurant was running at maybe 15-20 %... More

Got the order wrong first. Worst fish ever, cit into tiny pieces, fried with more batter than fish. Served with rice, when asked for chips. Waited 30 mins for services and management didn't seem interested.
