We,3 couples, had spent the day down at the V&A and decided to visit here on our way home. It was really busy outside so we went inside to order our drinks, the men were happy as the place sold Guinness so everyone was happy. We stayed about 4 hours,we didn't eat in there and we probably got served at our table... More

The place looks very busy on a regular basis and has a great variety of beer offerings. We had the fish and chips there and it was great. The service, however, was horrendous. We had three different waiters who could not make head or tail of our order, tried to sell us on things we did not want and aggressively... More

On the entry to the V&A there are 2 joined buildings (old locomotive sheds) which have become synonymous with drinking in Cape Town: Ferryman’s and Mitchell’s Scottish Ale House. We visited Mitchell’s for lunch – a microbrewery which brews 6 ales and 3 lagers on site…. this was our first experience at South African beer tasting....and was excellent

There isn't a better place for when one needs a good cold beer. We didn't eat there but the food we saw looked (and smelled) very good. Only criticism is (and this should be so easy to fix) that tables don't get wiped after guests leave. They are a bit mucky and sticky. We were not the only ones asking... More

Stopped in for lunch on a very busy day after Christmas day, they were absolutely packed, but we managed to find a table. As far as pub food goes, the food was good, and the portions quite large. Their steak prego was particularly good, awesome onion rings. Ordered steak medium, but it was more medium-rare. However, still tasty. Service was... More

Walked in. Sat at a table. Given 2 dog-eared soggy menus. Sat for 10 minutes no service, no acknowledgment. Walked out, past a member of "management" who didn't even look at us... Don't bother.
