Wonderful, spicy smells made my mouth water the minute I crossed the threshold. An assortment of savory dishes were served on the flatbread and eagerly shared by our party of 5. This was a culinary pleasure!

This was our first time eating Ethiopian food and we will definitely again. Our server was great and we just ordered the set menu for two which included 8 different selections of food. The food was awesome and we left happy!

Definitely give it a shot! It’s a quiet restaurant so you could just walk in if you don’t have a reservation. The waiter did a good job explaining the food and how to enjoy the food. I definitely love the 100% teff crepe? Pancake? And...More

Food I haven’t tried before, first time at Ethiopian restaurant. Offers number of Vegan options. Food served on a big rice ‘crepe’ and tear the crepe and wrap the food and eat with fingers. I ordered spicy mushrooms as main and kale and veggies as...More

Heard a lot about this place. The super large pancake thing seemed redundant considering they give you the other rice stuf. Also, sitting by the window the food got cold super fast. I know it's probably not that spicy due to the large influx of...More

Two of us visited Addis on a Saturday evening. We ordered the combo for two which allows four dishes. Prawns in cinnamon flavoured sauce, spicy beef cubes, chicken which did not have a particular taste and absolutely tasteless lamb. Portions were very small. The waiter...More

Description
Addis in Cape! Voted best African Eatery in Cape Town, an authentic Ethiopian restaurant that caters for Non-vegetarian, Vegan and Vegetarian clients. We provide a unique communal dining experience you, your family and friends will remember. From traditional hand-wash ceremonies to our traditional Ethiopian coffee we promise a memorable experience. Ethiopian cuisine is famous for its rich aromas and generous use of herbs and spices. The country was historically situated on trading routes that included the trade of many exotic spices; this history has had a tremendous influence on the taste of Ethiopian food as we know it. Today most of the herbs and spices are blended and prepared in the home with great love and attention, as are those used in Addis in Cape. The dishes that you taste here are unique to Ethiopia and we are proud as a restaurant to share them with you.
