There are lots of starter to choose from, the servings are small but no problems you can order more platters this way you can taste varius sushi dishes, the price and service are good, Quiet ambient situated on a corner street.

This place is really bad, don't go here. Sushi is stodgy and heavy, tuna is gray in colour and clearly not fresh, dim sum is pre-made frozen, beef in curry was chewy.

Had been here for sushi before, which was OK but not amazing. Discovered that their Thai food is a better menu option, all five people in our party had different dishes and all were great.

The dim sum was a disaster but the main meals were delicious. Definitely worth trying if you are in the area and feeling for Thai!

Time for them to realize the hype is not enough. The food is barely edible with average service. The restaurant needs to be cleaned up and the menu revised. The worst is seeing the sushi chef sitting on the street curb SMOKING. Clean up your act guys.

We had somewhat distracted but friendly service on a quiet weekday night. Advised that the spicing ran hot we ordered medium curry dishes which were pleasant enough but unremarkable.

Rock thai is an awesome sushi bar and they also make amazing noodles. The specials are great because they have many options for you to pick from. The 18 piece is the perfect size and then followed by the chicken noodle soup. The sushi is amazing , the fashion sandwiches and hand rolls are the best.

I met a friend here last night as I rave about the one in Meadowridge - which is just simply the best sushi and curry place in town So why is the standard not consistent then - the sushi I had was old rice and small portions that I had to top it up with a set of salmon maki... More

We went to the Rock Newlands branch with a group of people to celebrate my daughter-in-law's birthday. The service was rather good but starters I ordered was not good at all. I had the calamari starters, which was so tough that it was near impossible to chew, let alone swallow. The main course we had were average, nothing great. The... More

A good all round experience for couples or families. A good selection of drinks and very good Asian cuisine. Also a convenient location in Dean Street.

Description
Rock Sushi (THAI) began in the picturesque fishing village of Hermanus in 2004, when owner of the Harbour Rock Restaurant, Francois Barnard, decided to expand the repertoire of his highly successful seaside restaurant. A Master Sushi chef was headhunted, and alterations on a new kitchen within the building began. Thai Cuisine has always been known for its clean, fresh flavours. Beautifully fragrant ingredients like ginger, lemongrass and coriander give Thai cuisine its distinct and unique flavour, loved by people the world over. Rock (SUSHI) Thai is an embodiment of this mantra.
