We live in Anthem, AZ, and had been hearing about the great food at Manzanita. So, we drove the 70 miles up to Cornville with our couple friends to dine there for dinner. Both the food and the service (our server Kayla) was superb. Manzanita...has been rated as one of the Top 10 Restaurants in Arizona for many years, and that rating is well-deserved! The menu is very diverse, with so many tempting offerings that it was difficult to choose one. Our party of four ordered all different meals, and every one of them was delicious! The seafood chowder which came with my meal was simply the best I have ever tasted! Two of us ordered from the German portion of the menu, and both loved their dishes. Go enjoy this wonderful restaurant. You will not be sorry!More

What a great find! A bit off the beaten path but so worth it. Homemade pumpkin soup and cream of mushroom were this week's soups...both excellent! Entrees of pork medallions and sauerbraten, delicious, with sides of red cabbage and potato pancakes, so authentic. Not to...mention a desert tray that we knock your socks off! Excellent service in a delightful setting, not to be missed! I can't wait to see what specials are e t!More

This is our 2nd time at Manzanita. Great menu includes bison and elk for the adventurous, steak, and delicious seafood. Very attentive to our gluten free requirements and while not able to make every dish work for us, they were able to work with us...to give us a GF fine dining experience. Hubby had steak au poivre, and I had one of the many specials - seafood campanara (shrimp, mussels, salmon) in a wonderfully light but flavorful creamy pesto sauce over GF noodles. And the chocolate mousse was to die for.More

I was shocked when my husband took me out to dinner in this pandemic going on not one person working at this restaurant wore a mask while seating or serving people. No attempt was made to social distance from customers either. No only that, but...the hostess kept sitting everyone in tables as close as possible to one another even though the space is big. It's like they wanted to spread the virus. I would have left in a heart beat but it meant alot to my husband to take me out. He is high risk and I hope his kind gesture won't end up killing him The food was good except for the potatoes which were soggy and poorly seasoned. I will not go back again as they obviously don't care about the health of their clients.More

What an awesome dining experience...we both started with the New England Clam chowder which was delicious...then I ordered the saurbraten with spartzle which was some of the best I have eaten! He had the prime rib with apple horseradish and red cabbage and he cleaned...the plate! A must if you are in the area..you will NOT be disappointed. Our waitress was outstanding a d super friendly...will definitely come back to the area just to eat here..it is worth a 3 hour drive!More

We were here for dinner on Halloween. They served Eye-ball soup (pureed veggies), and pumpkin soup. Both good. The Hungarian special, and the Schnitzel were also very good. Love the Riesling. Service was friendly and good. A little under attentive, but really worth complaining about....Typical precautions during Covid, but I don't think they were cleansing sufficiently (thus the lower rating). Not our first visit and certainly not the last.More

Having lived in Germany as a child, I love to come here for their Weiner Schnitzel-so delicious! My friend was going to have the same but they had a Special for the evening of Kangaroo medallions. He loved it. Their service is always TOP notch,...which goes along with their food. It’s a very Comfortable feeling restaurant. Never disappointed.More

Had dinner there in August and was disappointed with both the service and the food. Took long time to get seated even with a reservation and servers not very attentive. One of the meals had to be returned because it was inedible. Had eaten there...a while back and had no complaints but things just not the same as of late.More

First off, the food was excellent. I loved the schnitzel, and the German potato salad was awesome! My wife was disappointed with her dinner, though, but I think it was because she's not used to German food. The wait staff were attentive and professional. We...had a reservation but were forced to wait more than 15 minutes despite our table being clearly vacant. I think the hostess was too busy with the bar to keep track. When seated, I noticed the table and cloth were dirty. The decor is like a dressed up diner, with an Italian theme rather than German. All things considered, I felt the place was Cornville chic and the food overpriced, but delicious.More

I can't decide if this is a good review or a bad one?! Hopefully your wife will try us again, we have over a dozen menu items that are not German and you can get your German fix! Thanks for the review! ~Randy & Susan
