The restaurant seats family-style: pull up a chair at one of the big tables, sit down and make friends! The menu is creative and fresh. The decor is local. Back by the restrooms are little rooms for rent. The bakery was doing a brisk business...More
We enjoyed our breakfast at the Talkeetna Roadhouse. We ordered pancakes, the green chile casserole and a side of reindeer sausage. Everything was delicious. Service was decent but I could definitely tell our waitress was excited that tourist season was coming to an end.

Could that pancake fit on a dinner plate? Not at the Roadhouse. Food is great. Place is old, and friendly, and fun. We loved it. Wonderful homemade jams and jellies, baked goods, full menu. Eat at least one meal here.

Talkeetna Roadhouse was recommended to us by a local. Family style seating in an eclectic dining room. It was fun. The sourdough pancakes were awesome. A little pricey but kind of normal for Alaska. I would recommend to anyone visiting Talkeetna.
We ate here every morning because it was delicious and fun - mostly community tables shared with really interesting folks from all over the world. The frostys (homemade cinnamon rolls) are beyond amazing and the massive blueberry/banana pancakes will redefine the fold and eat method....More
