Each time I am fortunate to have dinner at The Oxford, I have never been let down. Meals are delicious, desserts are yum and the wine selection is superb.

We had a special birthday celebration there tonight. We had steak, chicken cordon bleu and wild venison. OMG was it all yummy!! The sauces, the veggies - everything was just super delicious! We will certainly be back. Highly recommended

The Oxford is now our regular “go to” for dining or just a drink and bar snack. Quality of food and service never fails to please and is very consistent, even when busy. Our most recent meal was Saturday night, the place was humming!

We were recommended this place for dinner by local colleagues so knew it would be good and reasonably priced. No one in our party of 5 was disappointed with their meat dishes, portion sizes, efficient service, menu choice and easy street parking. But I got...More

Normally I only get a pub type meal in Timaru. But I drove past this place on my way to the speights pub. I remembered it was the top rated restaurant so we stoped in for dinner. Tried duck wontons and a daily special entree....More

Just stumbled upon this classy place. Very nice food and we were well looked after. Very good all round package. [Trip advisor needs at least 100 characters in my feed back. Nothing more to say so just feeling in space to get this post done.]

“The kind of food that makes you want to wipe the plate with a chunk of crusty bread to savour every drop” We are located in the heart of Timaru. Our restaurant has three main areas. The bar, where you can have a glass of good wine or a craft beer on tap. The brasserie, a place where you're still part of the buzz, and the dining room, for those who what to focus on their company and the food. Its all about keeping it simple. We don’t want to mess to much with the quality ingredients we have sourced, so why should we? We have set up a bistro style menu with a European influence. Rustic bold flavours that marry perfectly together. "Nannas home cooking but done better. It’s the kind of food that you want to wipe the plate with a chunk of crusty bread to savour every drop." We are an allergy friendly restaurant. As we make almost all of our food onsite we know what is in it. Almost 70% of our menu can be served GLUTEN FREE. Talk to our staff about special allergy requirements.
