Stopped by while travelling through Timaru on a Friday evening the place was deserted but may have just caught them on a slow night. We ordered butter chicken (mild), papadums and naan bread. Service was quick and friendly however the naan and papadums were reasonably burnt (more than normal) and the butter chicken was extremely hot and spicy considering we... More

The food was satisfactory. We had biryani, palak paneer, butter naan and one more curry. Staff was friendly.

We went there for dinner. The staff was very friendly and fast. The food was great, it had the right mix of spices and was not too hot for us. Really great location.

We wanted a sit down meal within walking distance of our campsite. We were faced with this or the Japanese next door. As we had frequently eaten Asian food over the past month of our holiday and not one Indian meal we decided to eat here. What a good decision, and it should feature much higher up the rankings. We... The Tandoori King Restuart is in a block of several other other food outlets and opposite two large Fast Food companies - and yet they provided very competetive prices and superb food in quick time. Just the ticket for the passing tourist. Easy parking and wonderful service - both dine-in and take away service.

When I lived in Timaru, my family and I would always choose this Indian place to eat from. It is more commonly known for it's takeaway but would imagine the dining experience would be fairly similar! The food comes in great portions with an authentic tasting Indian style which I'm sure is what makes this small restaurant so appealing. It's... More

I dropped in for a meal as restaurant handy to motel. Food of reasonable quality, but the beer I ordered was not chilled. Limited wine selection. Obviously popular for takeaways as a number of customers cane and went while I was in the restaurant.

Only ever had takeaways from here and always Butter Chicken with naan bread. Best in town in my opinion. Been coming here for years and always feel they could be a little more frinedly but the food is good so I will keep, supporting them!
