I pass by this strategically placed cafe often. One of many available in Orewa. Service, food and coffee of the highest order. Just a little disappointed that their costs are a little higher than those around. Otherwise a cafe to be recommended.
Very disappointed with our breakfast this morning (Labour Day). Not much open in Orewa so we ended up here. We waited for over 45 minutes for our meals so I had to ask when we’d be getting them. I had the big breakfast that was...very bland and I got what seemed like margarine (!) for my toast. The sausage was tasteless. My wife’s bacon Benedict was very average. One piece of bacon between two English muffins. To top it all, there was a 15% surcharge but that’s something we have to accept but, even so, there was a lack of staff. There’s only one chance to make a first impression and this was not a good one; we will not be back.More
Ordered chicken, bacon and brie open sandwich, there were 4 small dry overcooked srips of chicken breast, over cooked bacon swamped in mayonnaise. Extremely underwhelming. Nice sunny courtyard but food needs a rework.
I was on my own so had a lunch special of a BLT and coffee. Service was friendly and the food tasty and enjoyable. Flat white came hot, the way I like it. Background music was light and even sing along style ! A great...way to spend an hour on a sunny day eating outdoors.More
We have visited this cafe multiple times and have concluded that they serve the best toasties in Orewa. The quality of their teas is also very good. The premises are normal Kiwi cafe style but has the advantage of both inside and outside tables. The...service is very good and always very friendly. We will continue to visit this establishment when we fancy a toasty. The cost is acceptable. Not cheap but acceptable.More
Good atmosphere and well prepared food. Plenty of tables inside and out. Good menu choices and lovely staff.
Walked away from our coffees. Wanted double shot but apparently that’s not allowed unless you have a larger size: we’d asked for small flat white but practically tasteless. Barista seemed uninterested in providing a decent coffee.
Went during lunch hour. ? New owners Did not listen to my request for Toasted Sandwich. Asked for Wholemeal bread avocado cheese and tomato toastie. Got white cheese and tomato. Coffee Luke warm. Disappointing.
Look, when you are tired of trying to find your way around flashed up cooked breakfasts, fighting off the swirls of balsamic or black vinegar, then you should visit The Farmhouse Cafe in sunny Orewa. Good honest cooked breakfast, generous servings, just what I needed...to refresh and see another week to a good start. Highly recommended!More
My friend and I go every Sunday morning for coffee Love it sometime we have breakfast or just a scone Staff very friendly and bring bowl of water out for our dogs Coffee great
They have improved. Previously visited and gave it a bad rating however this time was good. Had the chicken and bacon on ciabatta. Tasted good and the ciabatta was with a softer crust than normal. The coffee was good as well. Prices good - mid...range. Worth visiting again.More
The Café is in the back streets but near the centre of town. Service was friendly and the food good and not expensive. It is nicely set up and the atmosphere friendly.
Service was terrible. Waiting 20 minutes for a drink to be made. My order was forgotten about. I went and asked and they said that we had taken it out but I hadn't received anything. I waiting for another 10 minutes and went up and...asked for a refund. I would not recommend going here to anybody if this is how they treat their customers. Not impressed.More
A really nice place for a cuppa tea, coffee and homemade food to eat. The staff are lovely and the food is well presented. This place is becoming a regular stop for us.
