I am a big time foodie and am consistently disappointed in this economic region. If someone tells you what a great restaurant so-and-so is....don't believe them. In this region all you will get is mediocre at best. Turkey Red is an exception. I have been pleased with all the food I have ordered. As a chef I appreciate the level... More

Celebrated our anniversary here and had a very delicious meal. The service was friendly, efficient and not overbearing. We had the chicken and figs and the rock fish with wasabi coconut crust. Both were very tasty and a nice portion. They were out of the wine special but a substitute was recommended and worked well with our meal. We find... More

I like going to Turkey Red. They have an interesting menu and do serve gluten free food for those who have gluten issues. ❤️their flourless chocolate cake with whipped cream and raspberries. For those wanting a little bit of alcohol they serve wine and beer. Check it out. Right downtown in Palmer.

Every time I go there I leave unsatisfied. Last time I was there I ordered a sandwich. I asked for mayonnaise and the waitress seemed a little offended and said they have none. I asked for a substitute, maybe Vegenaise? Oh no. On top of that they automatically put the tip in the bill. No freedom there. Service is good... More

Had breakfast at Turkey Red, French Toast...but , have to say...tough french bread does not make for easy cutting or chewing, more like gnawing... where was a beaver when I needed him? Teeth still feel the workout. Took the rest home and will try the food chopper on it, or the axe.

Went to dinner at Turkey Red. We had the lamb shank and the seafood pasta. Both excellent. We also tried their wine special from Mendoza, which was excellent. Service was very good. They had a great variety of specials in addition to the regular menu. Great selection of seafood with salmon, cod, rockfish, and mixed seafood dishses. The lamb shank... More

Turkey Red is a sleeper. It's a pretty small place that is fairly nondescript from the outside but very nice on the inside. But it's what goes on inside the inside that really counts - in the kitchen. They don't have a 'plain-jane' burger. No simple salad. No ordinary...well, anything. Every bite you take while in here is different, special,... More

What a pleasant surprise when local friends brought me here for dinner. I started with a nice dinner salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing, then I had to have the special of the day which was braised short ribs. They were excellent with perfect veggies. Also had some incredible fresh brewed Oolong tea (best I ever had). The service was great... More

Best breakfast in the Mat Su Valley, hands down. Alas, they stop serving it at 10am. Lunch is, well, just fine. But the dinner menu is fresh and locally sourced when available. A respectable wine selection complements thoughtfully prepared entrées and we haven't had an hors devour we didn't love. The spanakopita is particularly notable. Turkey Red would have a... More

Fine dining at a budget price. Tables are set with cloth napkins and nice glassware. Beer and wine are available. Menu items are freshly made with fresh Alaska ingredients. Excellent selection of wines and desserts.
