The best fish and chips in town, by far. We eat there often during the summer. The fish is fresh, the service is fast, and the meal is excellent and reasonably priced.

After golfing at Valley of the Eagles, the fish & chips at Big Al's were second to none. Would recommend to everybody visiting the Haines area. Rob Ireland

The cook in this small trailer turns out excellent fish and chips. I had the salmon/halibut combo and highly recommend this dish.

Searched to find this place. Look for the post office and it is right across the street. Well worth worth the search! The nice young lady recommended the fried salmon. We ordered the deep fried salmon and the rockfish combo-yum! My kids ordered a basket teaming with shrimp. The sides were the real star...dill flavored tartar sauce..yummy cocktail sauce and... No frills here. Fried fish, condiments, napkins, and a picnic bench. We had halibut, salmon, and rock fish. I actually preferred the rock fish because of it's meaty texture. It was all so fresh I had to slap it. Condiments weren't fancy but they were plentiful.

My wife and I stopped in to Big Al's today for their halibut sandwich and fries. We didn't have too big expectations given it's trailer in a parking lot. The fish and fries were all deep fried and served on a nicely toasted bun. However, there were two little pieces of fish (2.5" x 1"x 1/2") in each sandwich. So... More

Good fish, average chicken strips, regular fries. Everything is piping hot, made while you wait and it pretty good. You just have to remember that it is deep fried - but delicious. :-)

$15 gets you fish and chips. Halibut, Salmon, Rockfish or a combination. Some scottish folks we shared a rafting trip with joined us as well and for all 6 of us we enjoyed the meal. We took it around the corner to the public pavilion to eat and watch the harbor and the eagles. A slice of heaven...with chips!
