The food was very good. The waitress was not that great, but manages to serve us a good meal. I will go again.

I have been a happy customer of the Los Anonos for more than 15 years... probably having been there more than 10 times in that period. That said, it's been seven years since my last visit, and I was surprised at what our experience was this time. First, it was easy to get a reservation for nine of us, but... More

One of the best places to have steak around San José, totally recommend it! It's not really that expensive for the quality you get.

Established for over 50 years... the owners and staff have it down to a science. This restaurant can stand their ground against most any other steakhouse, the world over.

I have visited Costa Rica for the past 14 years and I can really say that this is one of the best restaurants in the country. You can get great quality of food and the portions are decent. It feels like a very family oriented restaurant and there is always a security guard in the parking. Make sure you have... More

This is a local restaurant for local people. It is not upscale; it is a good decent place to have a decent meal without busting the budget. I had the baked sea bass and enjoyed it.

Pleasant, clean atmosphere. Service was very good. Nice wine list. Dinner was well presented and it was very tasty, but as is usually the case in Costa Rica, the steak was tough and chewy. I missed the "Imported Steak (from Omaha)" on the menu. Next time, I'll go for it, but it was much more expensive.

While travelling on business to Costa Rica on business for the past 6 months I have been to this restaurant twice and have been impressed on both occasions - the food is good (from a pure steakhouse perspective - this is NOT Morton's), the portions are very good, value for your dollar is good, but I have to admit I... This quaint restaurant was exquisite and tasty. Learning the history was also nice. Great tasting food. Worth the visit.

If you want to have a feel for what 1960 Costa Rica was like, at the time a little democratic backwater in Central America, then go to Los Anonos. It is darkish inside, its interior has a lot of wood, and service if of an old-fashioned friendliness and generosity. All the regular Costarican numbers are there: arroz con pollo, lengua... More
