This is, without a doubt, the best meal I’ve had since arriving in Costa Rica. The service was impeccable and friendly, the food was well balanced and the spicing was delicate and beautiful. I wish I could pick this place up and carry it on...my back to Minnesota so that I could go three times a week. Many many options on the menu, but the desert, oh my God the desert, try the chocolate cake!More

Great food and service! Tried a chicken bowl, Chilean cake and latte, everything was amazing. Cute design outside. Would definitely go there again.

My plane was taking off in 2.5 hours, so not much time to eat before flying out. I arrived at Cafe Rojo about 30 minutes before is was officially open, and explained to them in my broken Spanish my situation. They dropped what they were...doing and opened up 30 minutes early just to feed me so I could catch the plane on a full stomach. Oh... and the food gets a 10 of 10 on freshness... Very tasty. Best way to start a day moving thru airportsMore

I love the food at Cafe Rojo. It is made fresh and very delicious. The staff are always super friendly and helpful. The area just nearby can be a little bit dodgy at times so be careful. This is not a reflection of the cafe...just a sidenote.More

The format is really cool and easy to follow, pick your base, add "protein" (or vegetable), you're all set! My wife got the pescado (fish) and casado (rice + beans). I went for shitake mushrooms and 'bun' (Vietnamese noodles). The fish was phenomenal, that's the...winner. Shitake was delicious, slightly healthier, and combined with the noodles, very filling. Both our orders came with side salads. We also grabbed a bottle for 8k colons (~$17 CAD) and it was a nice addition. The cafe itself is very beautiful and worth eating at. The owner / staff were so nice and welcoming to us (foreigners). We would have eaten in, but due to COVID decided to take the food back to our room. It made for great, easy, and healthy takeaway.More
